Had those run in America, I'm sure Segata Sanshiro could've knocked me out of my Nintendo fanboyism and gotten ne to buy a Dreamcast. I thought the second one was the best, kicking the asses of a club full of dancers because Shining Force 3 was coming out.

Saturn was actually $399 when it was first released. I remember wanting one really badly for Virtua Fighter 2, but my dad wasn't even willing to consider it at that price. I had to settle for renting it a couple times. Eventually my neighbor bought one and I got to play it more regularly. Once he bought a Playstation I was even able to borrow it for extended periods of time. It was a dream come true for fans of 2D fighters. Also, Guardian Heroes was amazing.

I know.

"$299" was the entire contents of a keynote speech by Sony president Steve Race at the first E3. Just after Sega announced their $399 price point, of course.

Pretty much killed the Saturn right then and there.

Can't see youtubes on a cellphone, but I thought the Saturn Bomberman Fight commercial where he just fucking throws a dude who explodes was badass.

Also, Fighting Vipers was the shit. And Last Bronx.
