Sorry for my lack of activity for the last... oh, who cares.

Anyway. This article is meant to explore a few points of the relatively new Halo game, ODST.

I personally thought it was an entertaining game. Especially with the new thematic elements (experiencing war from an ODST's point of view, obviously, and the difficulties that presents when compared to Master Chief's experience).

--NOTE: THIS IS WHERE THE SPOILERS BEGIN. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.--

The open-world style from the Rookie's point of view was refreshing. I spent countless hours just roaming New Mombasa. Plus, it made me feel like a total ninja assassinating swaths of enemies (speaking of, the hours I spent roaming were sometimes spent finding the best weapons. Ah... memories).

At the same time, the missions you took part in after finding the beacons were amazing. For instance, the mission where you find Romeo's sniper rifle hanging from a wire. It stressed that teamwork was necessary for survival and that you couldn't just Rambo the Covenant's ass. I was waiting for a mission like that in the original Halo games. The only one like that is Truth and Reconciliation, from the first one. And even then, once the Elites are gone, it's no challenge.

Moving on. While the game in its entirety was pretty enjoyable, I found the ending both lacking and satisfying...

For one. When you're driving down the highway, protecting the Engineer and Dare from becoming Covenant mulch, there was almost no challenge in protecting the two. That vehicle was nigh indestructible. How disappointing.

However. When you're in the Zoo Building, shooting at all who try to come near, the appearance of that huge Seraph nearly made me shit my pants. It's MASSIVE. And very detailed. It made me feel like an ant running from a bear.

Oh. When Buck and Dare kissed each other, I literally gagged. Romance+Halo=HELL NAW. Besides, Dare isn't all that attractive anyway. You should really set your standards higher, Buck.

I did like the side view of the 'Dreadnought Pit' (as I like to call it) when the Phantom carrying the entire team fled the scene of the crime. It was very nostalgic.

--End Spoilers--

Oh well. There goes about 55 bucks. It wasn't a perfect game, but the good parts practically annihilated the bad parts.

… Heh heh heh. Now I want one of those Seraphs for Christmas. Wonder how many gallons of gas that thing takes.

Anyway. Don't get me started about Firefight. Those who say it's a bad rip-off of Horde from Gears of War need to go die.

And on that pleasant note, I end. Not because I have nothing more to say (which is partly true), but because I’m lazy. Buh-bye.

'What can I say? It was a hell of a night.'
