I'd like one of those docks you plug your Ipod into and you can use it to play your music. Alarmclock functionality is optional, Apple Brand not necessary. Would like to spend less than $100, probably closer to $75 if possible.

There are like 1,000 of these things on the market. Anybody have a preference?

I have an iHome one. Overall I am pleased with it, and they run around your price range.

That looks nice.

I suppose I should say that my primary use for it will be to listen to music quietly while I go to sleep at night (will leave it on all night).

logically, that would make sense. but OP has more marketing and sales power

I have a Tivoli Audio iSongBook, received last Christmas as a present.

Never had a problem with it, and it's got good quality sound and a detachable speaker as well.
