This has probably got to be one of the most unexpected things since the Disney/Marvel deal. Looks like the upcoming Turtles Forever special is the last of the current Turtles series.

According to the press release at the below link, Nick's making a new CGI TMNT TV series as well as a new movie:

I'm a bit saddened, but then again the series had a good run for me. I loved the first two live-action movies(Meh with the third, had a direct-to-VHS feel to it), the 80's/90's cartoon, and even the newer cartoon was pretty good.

(Pffff) If you thought it was bad before wait until Disney recycles it all again for another 10 years of mass consumption, I like to pretend the original cartoon and movie are the only TMNT that exist.

Semi-off topic, I love the remake of "Turtles in Time". Fantastic.

Make sure to catch the Turtles Forever special when they (4Kids) air it next month. My only complaint is none of the 80's Turtles are voiced by their voice actors (Cam Clarke's gotten pretty valuable these days, for one).

Not a big deal to me, TMNT lost its balls when Archie comics got involved. Even as a little kid I thought the cartoon was bullshit. I guess the reason I didnt love it was because my older brothers got me into the original comics and when I saw them acting retarded and not killing anything but "robots" it lost its luster for me.

I don't think the city the turtles lived in would have appreciated them kicking the shit out the local youth (the foot clan).

But yeah, it sounds like you matured before your time. Did you hate Power Rangers as well? (I guess they technically "killed" the puttys, but still, no gore.)
