This sounds childish but do you mean lighting your farts on fire? Because that is the first thing that comes to mind. My friends used to do that. It's funny in a kind of frat-boyish/dangerous way.

I believe he means he's been waging a campaign of psychological warfare against his family by subtly moving furniture, dimming lights, etc while denying that anything has changed until his victims begin to doubt their own sanity.
