Loved the new article. Can't believe you went through the whole damn convoluted game. It's hilarious that the game actually quits if you swear. Fuck them.

Yeah that article was great.

I don't think I would ever have the patience to play a game like that through to the end.

Ah, the evolution of the parser.

The game should have been like Leisure Suit Larry and have preset responses for vulgarities.

Nevertheless, God bless you Sierra!

I loved the article, too. When you were at the button the first time, I was like practically yelling at the screen, 'Syd! Syd! Try "PRESS"! It has to be "PRESS"!'

Anyone ever play any of the 'Hugo's House of Horrors' series? It was the same idea, only around the 386 era, and they were really quite fun.

I have a hankering for playing a bunch of old text parser games now, like that one about the mystery at the school after midnight, and the undersea one.

YES! Loved those. The jungle one was probably my favorite.

I'm surprised that no one was weirded out by the fact that my bathroom floor was filled with Goosebumps books and Playboys... and there were a lot more Goosebumps.

I would have been more fearful if it were Baby Sitter's Club and Boxcar Children.

I used to have a shitload of Goosebumps books way back when...I'm sure they're still around somewhere.

I'd typically be worried about younger siblings viewing the Playboy, but I'm sure all the good pages are stuck together by now.

I'm sorry. So terribly, terribly sorry.

Man, that's quite a... well, it's a game, anyway. It's like the videogame equivalent of drawings on cave walls. I would have loved it when I was a kid, though. I used to write my own games of this sort in BASIC, though without graphics. I wrote two based on Star Trek: TNG and one based on Gargoyles. The last one was pretty good -- wish I still had a copy.
