I never thought I'd be voting for Family Guy round 1, but then it got these pairings. Never watched EWJ or Samurai Jack, and while I have a vague recollection of Danger Mouse, they aren't the fondest of memories. I remember liking it as a kid, but not the way I loved other cartoons of the time.

I wouldn't have voted against Family Guy to punish it, it's just the lack of consistency. Yeah, Simpsons has been God awful for years now, but they had 8 of the best years on television. Family Guy had 3 great seasons, went off the air, then came back to one good-great season and started a rapid decline. It doesn't spoil the memory of the earlier seasons, but it certainly needs to be taken into account when judging the series as a whole. Hell, I would argue that a show that had 7 really good seasons, even if it wasn't as good as the best Simspsons seasons, would be a better overall show than The Simpsons because of its consistently high quality, whereas The Simpsons has gone on so much longer than it should have that soon nearly half the episodes will be unwatchable. That will never take away from how good the show was, but you can't isolate your fond memories when evaluating the entire product.
