I'm not sure how I feel about this. I normally am totally down with a good tasering especially when the person in question is a drunk obnoxious ass. In this case, it looked like the security guard was too fat to try and keep up with the fan who made it on the field and just decided to taser him instead. It's kind of bullshit. There was an unwritten law that if a fan made it on the field, he/she should be rewarded with an opportunity to run around and look rediculous until they get tackled by a ball-player or the staff. If you were lucky and at a football game, a 300lbs linesman would destroy the fan.

Shit, I'm fat ans I've outrun cops when I had to. I know recently Chicago had a thing where if you wanted a better weapon(They needed assualt rifles and submachine guns), you had to pass a physical fitness exam.

To be fair, in this particular situation, there's no guarantee that tackling the kid would have been less likely to injure him than the taser.

Absolutely, they deserve it. Granted they might not be harmless, but you never know the intentions of a lot of these "super fans". We had a IBA league out here several years ago and we've had drunken rowdy fans get really pissed when something happens and honestly, I'm surprised we don't have more sports riots like the rest of the world does. So neutralizing the problem as quickly as possible...tasers don't hurt....much.

I fully expect the fans to get injured. The taser in this case just seemed to be a lame way to end it, like getting a net thrown on you by a bunch of damn, dirty apes and being hauled back to your cell. Security should have to tackle him with their own bare hands.

Baseball would be much more interesting if all the players had either a Taser or Mace and instead of tagging a player with the ball to get out, you throw the ball at them which before the ball strikes them spikes shoot out and kill the player on the other team.

I just saw the video of the intial tasering.......I've gotta say that security guard is a pretty good shot. He hit him from a good 20 feet away, while on the run.
