This is Round 2 of the NFL Deadpool. It will go from Week 9 until the end of the season, or until there's a winner.

The prize will be the smug self satisfaction that your random wild guesses are better than anyone elses. And a Twinkie.

In case you missed it from the first round, here's the Rules and Regs:

*Each week, you pick a team. Picks are due just before the first game that week. You can't pick a team that you've picked in a past week.
*If your chosen team wins, you stay in. If they lose, you're out. You can continue picking teams if you really, really want, but it doesn't count.
*If you don't pick a team one week, you automatically get assigned a random team that has the worst record. Miss two weeks in a row, you're out.
*If during a week, all remaining players are eliminated, the week doesn't count. All people eliminated that week are back in.
*When one person is left, they win. If there's enough time left in the season, we start over again.

Note that the unofficial "picks from the grave" doesn't have to follow these rules. Also note that teams you picked in Round 1 are now eligible to be chosen again.

This will -not- extend into the playoffs. I do something different for those.

Good luck to everyone!

To sign up, simply get to me your name and your Week 9 pick. Picks are due before opening kickoff of the first game.

I'll take the Steelers. As much as I hate them, I think the Broncos are going down.

broncos going down again?

anyhow, normally i would pick the raiders, cause they have a bye and there is no way they can fuck that up, but im sure thats against the rules.

so, ill go w/the packers.

Packers, even though they couldn't stop a three man rush if their lives depended on it.

I'll pick the Eagles, for now. There isn't really a match I'm confident about that doesn't involve one of the crap teams.

As you may have guessed, I got the Patriots this week.

And yes, you can pick the team that has a bye week. They don't win. So you're out. Very Happy

That made me wonder... What happens in the case of a tie? It's unlikely we'll see another anytime soon, but you never know.

I think I answered this in the other thread, but if your team ties, you advance.

I think I'll make this more interesting by not using any of my picks from the last round, but I'm still not above picking heavy favorites each week.

I'll go for New Orleans. After claiming all season that their bubble will burst, it takes a big man to admit he was wrong, and they seem the surest bet this week.

Yes. But I'll be nice.

Pick a team for Sunday Night (Dallas or Philly, if you get in before it starts) or Monday Night (Denver or Pittsburgh) for this week, and I'll let you in.

I love when the announcers have idiot moments.

as Miami lines up on the New England 1-yard line.

Announcer #1 - "Looks like they're going to go for it!"
Announcer #2 - "On 3rd down, why not?"

There has been something like that here too (forgot which game), but it was because there was an error with the scoreboard, which showed 4th instead of 3rd down.

Well, I'm pretty much fucked. At least, I won't have lost to Tampa Bay.
(still hopes for the very small possibility of a fumble)
