I actually got smashed in the face playing Wii Tennis, and I had my hand attacked by a ceiling fan while trying to serve. I have yet to break anything though.

Nope. Never so much as a close call. And I never use the safety strap.

This.
I'm really careful with things, plus I have large hands in which to grip things.

When growing up, my parents would yell at me for
A) Swinging things around in the house
B) Playing (too many) videogames
I like how these Wii-Tennis rackets and such have combined the activities into something a parent would buy the kid for Xmas.

You may have had no accidents thus far, but rubbers are important. Not only for birth control, but also for preventing the spread of venereal diseases.

I don't feel the need for the strap, but I usually insist that one of my sweaty handed friends use one.

Exactly, I tell people to wear the strap or they are liable for my tv.

I always wear the strap, but mostly so it doesn't hang around and annoy me when I play.
I'll sometimes use the rubber cover too, mostly if it's a hot day, because otherwise my fingers might slip over the buttons if my hands are sweaty.
The only kind of accident I might have had with Wiimotes is dropping them on the ground, usually when I'm not even playing.

I don't use the rubber sheath and I only use the strap for games I'm not holding the wiimote sideways to play.
I only had one accidental launching of the wiimote (ironically to show off exactly why it should be worn). Fortunately it didn't hit the TV and actually landed square at the entertainment center's base.

I'm amazed people are so violent with their Wiimotes, since it doesn't take too much to get the desired reaction from the motion controls. I used the strap at first, but it was more annoying than anything as it has a tendency to chafe the skin if it's a cold room.
Also I had a few of those rubber covers, and they're so uncomfortable, I wasn't able to play for more than 15 minutes with them on. Also it sucked anyways, since I'd have to remove it to change the batteries.

one day my pal and I got into a dispute over a game of wii sports and in a fit of rage I savagely beat him to death with the wiimote. boy, that was a mistake!
