I was thinking of getting Netflix and intended to choose the stream to my Wii option. For $10 a month I can stream as much as I want to my Wii as well as have one actual DVD at at time.

Has anyone done this? Any connectivity issues or quality problems using the Wii? and I know I can't have new releases streamed, does this mean brand new, fairly new or am I going to get nothing new for months? Thanks in advance and if anyone thinks this should be in movies, go ahead and move it.

A friend has Netflix on his PS3, 360 AND cel. Out of the consoles I've seen, the queue looks a LOT better on the PS3 than a single row on the 360 (gave me eyestrain when said friend was scrolling for something near the end of over 250 titles in queue).

I saw the latest DC movie involving evil Supergirl, came out this year. But that was DVD only.

I have it on 360 and PS3, if you have fast and or good internet connection you rarely have to wait for the movie to load, i reccommend it

I don't have any next gen consoles, but I do stream to my computer quite often with no trouble, and have heard nothing but praise for the console service.

It also works surprisingly well on the Wii.

Does it use the channel interface or something different?

I use this on both my Wii and PS3. The Wii Netflix streaming is actually superior especially now that they have an actual Netflix Channel for free. No disk has to be inserted, you just click on the channel and watch hundreds of movies, tv shows, ect for free (Well for the cost of your monthly subscription). We use it all the time, a very nice feature to all three systems and well worth it to me.

Currently I have Comcast and the bundle I have makes it not worth getting Netflix. It sucks to think that I would have to change my ISP to use the Netflix streaming service. Damn Comcast and their anti-competitive nature. The 250GB limit would be destroyed by streaming video.

Fuck, I have comcast, I was unaware of a limit, where would I check if it applies to me also, my bill? or am I going to have to suffer through calling them?

I'm surprised to hear it works well on the Wii. I have a NetFlix subscription, and I have the Wii Netflix Disc, but I've been hesitant to try it out. The Wii Shop Channel is laggy fucking bullshit, so I just sort of assumed that Netflix would suck on it as well.

Yeah, I really thought it would be a mess, but the feedback seems positive. And as stated above, you can download the netflix channel now, no disc needed.

No they don't have a monitor for you. Some good routers will measure the bandwidth for you, but most don't.

Comcast will simply call you or send a letter when you are in violation. Do it again, they just pull your account and you are done.

250GB is the limit (I believe that is up and down combined).

I find that rather surprising for Comcast to do. I would think the internet is moving more towards free wireless state wide than toward pay per gig used. Anyway, I could be wrong. I've heard nothing but good things about Netflix on consoles as well, but I don't personally do it.

I think Comcast has either loosened up on the limit, or simply doesn't enforce it except in exceptional cases. We got one warning back in February, and we have gotten one since. And my dad and brother both use torrents.

You only get one warning last time I heard.

My feeling is that if they don't give you a bandwidth meter, they shouldn't be able to use bandwidth as a measure to remove your account.

I concur.

And it's a stupid business model. If you're going to set a cap, go back to the 90s solution of charging people for overages. AOL made a shitload of money that way.

I just wish there were other companies in the area that offered 6mbit + connections.

I have 20mbit/s with Comcast, the next best is AT&T DSL at 3mbit.

I wouldn't even be able to stream a single movie in HD with that.
