I'm buying a 360 Elite, and I was wondering what games I should pick up, or download off of Live, game genres I tend to like:
Strategy (Any type, could be turn based or real time)
FPS/TPS (Tactical Shooters I put under here too)
Stealth Games (Could be classified as a Third Person Shooter, but I don't)
Action Adventure (Second favorite after RPG)
RPG (Generally the type of game I'll pick up first)
Sports (Only Hockey, don't reccommend Soccer or Football or any of that shit, I don't like it, except for Blitz the League 2 if that's even for 360)
Puzzle (Don't reccommend a super ton if there's a super ton of Puzzle games, just give me a few good ones)
Racing (Same as puzzle)
Platformers (Reccommend tons if you please)
Adventure (Don't think there are any Adventure games for 360 but reccommend some if there is)
Now... games I already plan to pick up so don't freakin reccommend them.
--------
Assassin's Creed
Assassin's Creed 2 (When it comes out)
COD6: Modern Warfare 2 (When it comes out)
COD4: Modern Warfare
COD5: World at War (It's a maybe in my mind)
L4D (Definate buy)
L4D2 (Definate buy when it comes out)
Fable 2 (I'm on the fence about it, I loved Fable, but I've seen it in action and am not impressed)
Brutal Legend (When it comes out)
Dragon Age: Origins (When it comes out)
and .... Postal 3 (Only because I loved Postal 2 and how you could piss automatically starting on fire napalm on someone after you beat the game and variety of weapons and killage)
One last thing....... NO... FUCKING... HALOOOOOO! I HATE HALO. That is all.

what about fighting games? if you like them, try MvC2 or SFIV. also, Braid is a good platformer.

MUA2 is more enjoyable to me, but that might just be because of how much I played teh first one. I may have gotten so tired of it that anythign fresh seems better.

I really don't like fighting games, mainly because I suck at them, most of them at least, and they aren't all that appealing, again, most of them at least. MVC2 I love and I'll buy, but SFIV is one of those games that is really good and a good party game, but I suck at it, so I hate it. Braid looked interesting, it's about time or something right?

most of these are worth owning:

Rock Band I and II I'll check out, but I'm not buying any Guitar Hero games, all of them were a let down to me except 1 and 3, and the Beatles and I'll check out Van Halen (I've played them all at friends, except Van Halen and 3 (I own the PC version of GH3)). What's the 7th game first picture, after World Tour? Gears of War I really never liked, I might rent them at one point. I've heard the new Alone in the Dark was really glitchy and bad. Dynasty Warriors is an awesome series so I'll check out DW5 Empires, that Arcade game I don't really care about. Dynasty Warriors: Gundam I've heard bad things about, but if you can vouch for it I might rent it before I buy it. Ninety-Nine Nights I've never heard of. Pure didn't look interesting to me as much as Fuel did. The Incredible Hulk I already own for the PS3, and it's okay, I might rent it for 360 maybe for the achievements. Dark Sector got really boring for me quick. I believe that's Devil May Cry 4, and I love that game to death, but I don't know what the 2 games are next to it. Samurai Warriors 2 I thought was a uhhh combination of Dynasty Warriors and like Samurai Orachi or something, if it isn't tell me what it's like. Eternal Sonata I've heard is one of those must own RPG's for the 360, so I'll definately buy that. Virtua Fighter 5 Online I probably won't pick up because I'm not to much of a big fan of VF, I don't know the next three games next to it, but I mentioned I will be getting Left 4 Dead. I don't know the game next to it, but Crackdown looked pretty cool. Resident Evil 5 was in my opinion better than 4, and I really hated 4, 5 was okay. Just Cause I'm not sure what it is, so explain please. Dead or Alive 4, maybe, Quake 4 maybe, Army of Two, maybe, Soul Calibur IV, maybe just for the awesomeness that is Yoda, Perfect Dark Zero I think it is might spark my interest because I liked the original Perfect Dark. Eat Lead: The Return of Matt Hazard was a hilarious game to me, so I might buy it for 360 just to run through it again. Marvel Ultimate Alliance is just awesomeness in general. I've mentioned I hate Halo so no..., same for SFIV, I don't know the next game, but I don't like Smackdown vs. Raw or any wrestling games except for the old ones . Sonic the Hedgehog, dunno which one that is, so explain. I'm not putting in comments or wondering what the Original XBOX games are.

I totally agree, but one thing I hate about MUA2, they added like a total of 3 characters and switched characters out, I know they could of added at least 10 more characters fucking total, so it's bullshit.

After playing Gears 2, I simply CANNOT sit down and play Gears 1. Rock Revoloution is pure shit and I only own it because that whole "konami made guitar hero before guitar hero existed" thing had me curious. AITD kinda sucks, bit considering you can get it for twelve bucks at gamestop, coupled with one of those zany buy two get one free sales, it's worth checking out. the arcade game isn't in the case, it's actually Sega Superstars Tennis, but that sucks anyway. DW Gundam is really great if you are a huge gundam mark like I am, other than that there are better DW type of games, like Ninety Nine Nights and Samurai Warriors 2. The game you are thinking of is actually called Warriors Orochi, and it's a Dynasty Warriors/Samurai Warriors crossover game. Eternal Sonata is fantastic musically and graphically, but it's very lighthearted and will ahve you rolling your eyes alot, plus it's easy. I love it to death, but it's probably below par in the gameplay if you're one of those people that jerks off to FF Tactics or something. Also, there's a PS3 version with extra stuff. Rumble Roses is totally over the top and will amke your friends lose respect for you, but it's a better wrestling game IMO than the current WWE games. It's more arcadey like the earlier smackdown games and less simulation like smackdown vs madden 07. mirrors edge is a must try and 50 cent BOTS gets a bad rap and I'm sure you'll roll your eyes and say "to hell with that" but I highly recommend renting it. It's surprisingly fun. Earth Defense Force is a budget title through and through, but I find that I play it more than some of the 60 dollar games that I own. I've bought multiple games since getting it, and I always come back to it eventually. It's cheesy but so loveable. If I ever make a videogame, I want my first project to be a remake of this one. crackdown is lots of fun, especially when you level up a tad. RE5 is my obsession honestly, but then again I'm a RE junkie altogether. Just cause is pretty much Grand Theft Auto in Cuba and you have a parachute and can jump from speeding cars onto the roof of other speeding cars and hijack trucks. Not too shabby for ten bucks. Got it free when I bought AITD and Rumble Roses. Quake 4 is a decent time waster, and much more entertainign than Army of Two, which actually pissed me off. Bad controls, steep learning curve, too much reliability on co-op is really frustrating when coupled with a partner who is struggling with that learning curve. Fuck Yoda, it's the REST of SCIV that's worth the merit. I am legitimately the only human being on the planet that has anythign good to say about PDZ, and that's a shame. I recommend it. I cannot understand how a human being can consider themselves a videogame enthusiast and hate halo and street fighter. sonic the hedgehog is the worst game that I own, and that's saying alot considering I own sneak king.
on the subject of MUA2...
I don't mind the character roster being shortened honestly. in the first game there were a ton of cahracters that I had no interest in playing as and really didn't have any reason to try them out because they were all too similar. it seems like in the second game they spent more time trying to make everyone feel different enough to warrant experimentation. I can tell you in good faith that unlocking all of the character specific costumes and boosts felt like much less of a chore than unlocking all of the costumes in the first game. It was fun trying new strategies with different characters, whereas in the first game you pretty much learned how to take down an enemy, and then repeated that with whatever character you swapped out.
extraction points are gone. you can now save your game and swap out characters on your team at any time now, so there's less of a penalty for experimenting and fucking up. it's really encouraged now. They worked to make levelling less of a chore, with smarter auto levelling and the ability to do it from a mini menu while the CPU takes over your character, so you aren't pausing your game every twelve seconds to distribute pips anymore. it's kinda pointless though, as character customization is pretty linear this time around. all characters only have four special attacks, and all passive boosts pretty much have to be levelled equally due to the points system. I feel that's a big step back and is my only real big gripe about the game. I liked having the ability in the first game to say "I can either make thor a physical powerhouse and buff up his melee damage, crutial rate, and put all my pips into his hammer attacks OR I coud dump points into lightning mastery and utilize his hammer throws and lighting strikes to make him a ranged fighter" in MUA2 he's pretty much typecasted is a crowd clearing powerhouse, for example.

I really like Fable 2. It's alot different then the first, but there are alot of interesting changes, and the story is good. There is alot more moral choices to be made in the game as well. I am just about finished with it playing a goody two-shoes hero. (Well other than the bigotry he's commiting having 3 wives in three towns. )
I am itching to start over with an evil chick for my next go around.
I also recommend:
Eternal Sonata
Lost Odyssey
GTA IV
DOA 4
Soul Caliber 4
Castlevania: SOTN (If you don't already have it for PS1)
I have been playing a bunch of demos off of Xbox live, and I think my next purchases will be:
Castle Crashers
Fight Night Round 4
&
Forza 3

A couple of games I'd recommend are The Last Remnant, Blue Dragon, and Mass Effect. Last Remnant is a little hard to pick up but its ultimately an excellent RPG to play, very deep, Blue Dragon is a reunion of the Dream Team that made Chrono Trigger, and is a real treat to play. Finally, Mass Effect is a good fusion of Gears of War style TPS and KOTOR level building. For straight shooter games, I'd recommend Lost Planet or the sequel when it comes out, for adventure games/RPG I'd highly recommend above all else Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion and Fallout 3, but wait for the Game of the Year edition on that one so you can get the DLC in box.

That was the game I was thinking of, Warriors Orochi... it was a good game. I'm not too huge of a fan of any Final Fantasy games, I'm a stick in the mud when it comes to that series. I'll check out Rumble Roses and DW: Gundam. Mirror's Edge was a good game, and I loved the concept of parkour, I just thought it could have been done so much better. 50 Cent: BOTS I did pretty much say to hell with that, but if you can vouch for it I'll rent it first and maybe buy it. EDF I'll get. Just Cause sounds like fun ^^. In my opinion, Halo was a very mediocre shooter, with mediocre story, and Street Fighter, 2 was good, Alpha was good, at least a few games of Alpha, but I hated 4, it added in like Counter attack? or whatever it's called. That's bullshit on any controller. Sonic the Hedgehog being the 2006 one? and I'll check out PDZ.

Eternal Sonata I'm gonna check out, and Lost Odyssey is that like Massive RPG right, where you control like 80 guys or something? I really don't like GTA IV except for killing yourself, that's always fun. Soul Calibur 4, maybe, and I've never owned SOTN, so I'll download that. Castle Crashers looked interesting, especially with the new Expansion pack, and Forza 3, I dunno.

The Last Remnant I'll pick up, Blue Dragon I haven't heard of, and I most likely won't pick up Mass Effect, just not the game for me. Blue Dragon sounds amazing from how you described it though. Lost Planet was good, but a bit too short for my tastes, I might rent the sequel. I've played TES IV: Oblivion to death, and same to Fallout 3, but no expansions so it should be tons of fun.

Lost Odyssey is was made by most of the original Final Fantasy series creator, and is what FF12 should have been. It's a more traditional turn-based JRPG with f'n amazing graphics.

Oh yeah, Orange Box is a must have, especially since it dropped in price, you're pretty much paying $4 for each game.
