Wow...that's pretty incredible. I honestly did not know they were that old.
Good for you, Nintendo! Happy birthday!!!
Here's to 120 more.

What tipped you off? The giant bronze "PLAYING CARDS!!11!!!" sign in the original post?

Speaking of them being a card company, I saw this video before and always thought it was kind of cool that this guy went into the original headquarters and showed some of the stuff. Also lol at the lady kicking him out and then showing him everything anyways.

Nintendo is still a card manufacturing company, and has actually been very successful at it for quite some time. There's just not a lot of international demand for hanafuda cards.
Fun fact: Nintendo once opened a chain of love hotels back in the 1960s.
I think I need to get some Hanafuda cards from Nintendo to celebrate their 120th birthday.

Are those the ones that Japanese men go to just for the company of a woman (most of the time, there's not even sex), or am I mistaken?
So here's to you Mrs. Robinson. People love you more- oh, nevermind.

You're thinking of geisha houses.
"Love hotels" have rooms you can rent by the hour, and the idea is you're supposed to bring someone with you to fill that hour. It's not necessarily a seedy place where you bring a date to avoid getting caught at home like it would be in the US. Japanese homes are very small, the interior walls are (sometimes literally) paper thin, and privacy is pretty nonexistant...a love hotel could very well be the only place you can find some alone with with a spouse.

Nah, wasn't talking about the geishas, I was thinking about what you're describing, but I got my facts mixed up. We learned about them in one of my culture classes.
