If we had this technology 20 years ago, why don't we have these now? Sure your cell phone can do all that and more, but it's immobile, and isn't pseudo-sentient.

I'm sure the military recruited Newton after seeing this video back in 1989. Now they probably have their own Bender units while all we have is cell phones with all the knowledge of the world at our fingertips for a small monthly fee.
