So apparently Pinball Hall of Fame: Williams Collection was released on the PS3/360 this week. The game came out on the Wii a year and a half ago, and became a mega-hit as a budget title. Its predecessor, the Gottlieb collection, went virtually unnoticed on the PS2/GCN/XBox. What made the Wii game successful, aside from markedly improved physics, was the controls. The nunchuk/remote setup was intuitive, and it made the experience more genuine.

So what does the 360/PS3 version offer?

1. HD graphics
2. Three new tables

But at what cost?

1. $40 vs. $20
2. Significantly worse controls

Whoever thought this was a good idea should be shot.

I have this on my Gamefly queue. I'm a big fan of pinball so I'm giving it a rent. I may buy if if i like it enough since I can get it for close to $20 anyway with my Gamefly discounts. I'll play it first though.
