Mini Ninjas has a decent trailer and the gameplay seems fun. It just came out today on Steam.

Have any of you heard about it or gotten the chance to play it?

This just came out on the Wii too. Judging by the name, I assumed it was budget-level crapware from EA or Ubisoft. It looks cool?

The trailer looked pretty fucking sweet.

It does look cool. There is a demo that I am going to try out tomorrow.

Warner Brothers is apparently involved as well. If you've got access to the Nintendo Channel on your Wii, check out all the trailers they've done for it. My one complaint is that although you'll eventually be able to play as 6 different ninja, it's strictly a one-player game.

I've downloaded the demo, and so far I like it. You can gain the form of animals, which probably is nothing new but I thought it was cool. Tried fishing with no luck. You can select from 3 different ninjas in the demo. I haven't really progressed too far in the demo though, so I'm basing this mostly off of first impressions of the game so far.

Well, I finally half assedly completed the demo, and I must say I am satisfied. The game kept me entertained throughout and the challenge seemed just about right. The learning curve was simple too making new abilities easy to learn and use. I kind of can foresee this game maybe being too short or too easy later on, but I think I might check it out in the near future. I'll probably end up getting the game off of Steam and probably will pick up an Xbox360 USB gamepad as well.

I got bored about half way through the demo.

I can honestly say that the PC controls felt a little loose. Almost like I was losing control whenever I started to use the sword. I bet it would be better on a console. Unless it drops in price to the sub $10 range, I have no interest in it anymore.

I doubt it. I read a review on it (360 version I think) where the author complained of clunky menus and controls. My biggest gripe is that it really is a button mashing beat em up-- which is why I think it might be too easy later on in the game. In the same review it also said the other ninjas are worthless making Hiro the best character in the game-- the others really don't serve a purpose other than to progress through certain areas it seems.
I think if any version would be the one to play, it would be the Wii version provided the game makes good use of the Wiimote. In closing, I would say I'm still interested in the game regardless of the minor flaws it may have.
