While I was attending Anime Weekend Atlanta, someone who I learned served in the US Air Force came up to me with a banner about this care package program for those serving overseas. Given where I mentioned I met this guy, it should be obvious. Operation Anime Storm is a program where civilians can send soldiers non-adult anime and manga in addition to the usual stuff one might send our troops in support.

I really think this is a great idea and honestly I'd never thought soldiers would be looking for something like this. But then you find out about things like Zigguatcon (the first gaming convention held in a freakin war zone) and it makes sense.

I am so there. I can't believe I've never heard of it--thank you so much for the tip!

I wonder if the have anything similar for video games. I know a lot of our guys and gals have various consoles and PCs over there.
