No. "IRC" is a network. Kind of like the internet. You use it to chat with people. There's several clients you can use for it, or you can use a web-based client that sucks, but gets the job done.

From the help FAQ:
* Check McAfee Anti-Virus settings. If you have McAfee Anti-Virus installed, make sure the rules for ports 6666 - 6669 in "VirusScan Console" > "Access Protection" are disabled.
* Check anti-virus and firewall settings. Even if your anti-virus and firewall are not listed above, they could still be responsible for this error. Check to make sure they are not blocking IRC or port 6667.
Or try the webclient for now. GP might come along, he's good at solving these problems.

At this point I think I have a bigger presence in the Chat than I do on the boards. I agree on Fernin though. He created the legendary Lexiabot and is in the Chat ALL the time. If you've been to the chat you know who he is.
The above sounds like a Chatzilla issue. Try GPF's webclient log-in:
