I have noticed that some threads can get two pages long and we won't here a responce from Syd when most people would probably like his opinion...

I am trying to figure out if Syd feels he has nothing to add or if he is totally uninterested in the thread itself or maybe a little bit of both

Are there are certain keywords that can bait Syd into a thread(I know politics does and "some" obscure pop culture characters)

opinions?

I enjoy the articles, I appreciate the community, I even find what he says entertaining or once in a while poignant, but I certainly don't hinge the success of a thread or completion of a topic on his presence. Ermac, you might want to tone down your man-crush before you creep him out.

It's also important to note that there are large portions of the forums, like all of General Discussion, that are pretty much total shit at this point. If you want Syd, or people in general, to comment in threads then write about interesting stuff and not this.

The community as a whole here is great. I honestly like everybody's input for the most part

Like I have said before, Syd reminds me of my friend Mark who died years back and the whole top NES/SNES games list was pure genius the way it was done so I respect his opinion on certain things.

Honestly I do admit I am obsessed with the whole Wakefield bunch and what their daily reactions with each other are in real life and I would pay to see a reality show of such a thing.

I will make this thread interesting

the top NES list made me cry the first time I read it because of how perfectly Syd and company captured the magic of the NES in one article and how it related to my childhood. Seriously no other site has came close to the creativity or greatness that is the "SydLexia NES Top Games of all time", not any of the big game sites can do it, people have tried and epic failed. It was one of the most thoughtful and enduring lists ever made for video games in general, you can read it every month and still feel the magic within that article and it never gets old.

That sir demands respect.

Respect, maybe. But not worship. He's not some internet god or something. He's a guy with a website.

It's not like his opinion on anything matters more than anyone else's.

If you feel this way you really need to help improve it rather than just complain. Especially as a moderator. Otherwise comments like this just come across as bitchy.

he seems like a cool guy. he's gonna hit 30 soon i think so he's gonna be uncool. This Is A Joke

in other words, he's legit right now. but once he's 30, hes gonna be too old to be legit. so hes going to have to quit. hehe, just had to say that.

but, he seems cool. the mods are cool. i wouldnt suck his cock or anything, but ill probably buy him a beer if we hung out.

The forums are active enough that I simply don't have time to read every thread. I already spend way too much time goofing off on the forums when I should be writing. The forums I check the most are General, Internets, and Video Games, as they are the most active. I check Music a lot too, but it's less active. I check Sports, but only I really pay attention to the wrestling threads in it. Movies, Television, nWo, OPP, and Toys And Stuff, I skim. I feel bad; I really should be more active in OPP.

I assure you, it's a very interesting situation being on the other side of things. I also assure you, I have tried to improve things, multiple times, over the course of multiple years.

but in all honesty i think modding a forum, or at least this forum would be a very easy task

Just out of curiousity, what have you done to try and help improve the forums? I'm just wondering if maybe I have missed something that you've done to try and improve the forums.

Dear Dr. Jeebus,

Please tell me in short what exactly are you doing to improve these forums. Aside from locking threads.

Yours truly,

I'm actually gonna have to defend Jeebus on this one. Although I have had problems with him locking threads in the past, a quick overview of the forums will show that at least 90% of them deserved it. I consider it improving the forums when he locks really ridiculous threads that have no business in General Discussion (like the sex one that was locked today).

So he really is trying, and I back him on this.

Except for his apparent tendency to pick on certain people (which he doesn't do anymore actually), I have no problem with Jeebus's modding. Just saying.

Also, "crap" on a forum is defined officially as "The stupid stuff you or your friends didn't post". Also, just saying.

the General Discussion sub-forum is like a box of chocolates. you never know what you're gonna get.

i dont mind jeebus' modding. it makes sense sometimes; sometimes he is a bit of a nazi, but one can understand his justifications when he went on his nazi locking rampage

Well I support Jeebus locking of the other Ermac thread...actually, I support his locking of most Ermac threads. This one too.

It's obvious that you've never met him in real life. The man needs a planet named after him.

Also, locking just to steal Jeebus' thunder.
