Fans of 1980s teen flicks are in for a real bummer as legendary angst-sploitation director director John Hughes passed away today (August 6th) of a heart attack. He was 59 years old.

Movies from the John Hughes collection didn't just mimic but shaped an entire generation of young people. His archetypal teens (and other scamps) have come to represent how we actually remember the 1980s (a brain, an athlete, a basket case, a princess and a criminal). While JH wrote some classic films (including Mr. Mom, Vacation, Home Alone, Pretty In Pink, Some Kind Of Wonderful*), his greatest impact was in his in his directorial efforts. Here are John Hughes' most romantic films in order from least to most romantic**:

here's the list:
5-Weird Science
4-Ferris Bueller's Day Off
3-The Breakfast Club
2-She's Having A Baby
1-Sixteen Candles

RIP JH

This is what's called "trolling for hits". You write content about something topical, just for the sake of having content about something topical. It's usually hastily throw together and fairly retarded, and its sole goal is to get you hits through Google. Not that I haven't done it before, such as by mentioning repeatedly Kara Borden in the news blog. But this list is dumb. How the fuck is Weird Sciene romantic?

But still, it really, really sucks that John Hughes is dead.

Weird Science is really only romantic if you're a teenage boy attracted to older women

(all of them)

Reminds me of this one show on SpikeTV back in maybe 2002 or 2003. It only lasted like two maybe three episodes. Anyway this guy had this RV and it folded out into a talk show set. The first episode was in Texas and he went to the Stevie Ray Vaughan memorial statue, looked at it and said "Can we have Stevie back and trade you the Backstreet Boys?" Or something along those lines.

Was he planning making some new teen comedy's? I think he has been under the radar for a while now.
