Man I really have high hopes for this. It was definitely my favorite "illustrated" book as a youngster and I am not about to jump on the bandwagon of pop culturists who are screaming that this will suck. I want it to be great, but I guess I will be that much more let down if it blows.
Seeing those creatures brought to life and how full of emotion their faces are almost made me get teary eyed as well.

Hot diggity dog, I hope this doesn't suck. It also helps that the kid doesn't look like as much of an asshole as in the book.

Totally with you on this one, Josh. I think it will be good if only for nostalgia's sake, but I hope it will be good in and of itself too. I have FAR more hope for this than I do "Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs."
