Ever since the WWF became the WWE there has been a severe decline in decent character developments. Characters like Undertaker, Kane, Edge and many others left over from the attitude era have really just been put through the meat grinder. Kane is no longer that mysterious monster where no one knows what his face looks like he is just a "monster" now. Undertaker is nothing more than just all of his personas mashed together to try and capture his awesomeness from the past and they are just utterly failing at it. Edge used to be cool when he was that wacky good guy who had crazy tendencies.

It is amazing what they have done.

Do you agree with me?

Do you see any other characters they have utterly destroyed or over played?

John Cena ( I like him outside wrestling )
JTG & Shad (Give them a push like him "The Legacy")
Triple H ( Too many regins, forgot he even had one)
The Big Show ( The biggest athlete .....what about Khali?)
CM Punk ( Slamdunked before he dribbled )
Randy Orton ( Fuck this guy and his gimmick )

WWE doesn't even do gimmicks like they used to...I mean they're PG shouldn't they have kept The Boogeyman?

After the realse of SVR2010 I doubt I'll even bother with WWE. Sad

Yeah, Pirate Paul was awesome. MVP was another guy who had some great potential, but then they jobbed the fuck out of him and the fans stopped caring.

To be fair, Undertaker's character was ruined the minute he "ascended" at Royal Rumble 1994. Hasn't been the same ever since.

I miss some of the old teams they had too like X-Pac and Road Dogg, Edge and Christian, Dudly Boys, the old hardy boys, most nowadays seem to be just plays off of the old ones.

What I also noticed is that WWE has become enthralled with itself with their little facts they are always giving between commercials.

Edge is still crazy, just megalomaniacal, in a "let's take over the world" sorta way.

Some stars in WWE look either egomaniacal, oblivious or out of place. All the others are lowcarders.

That is kind of where I really started losing interest. WWF was awesome for me from 1998-2002. Even during and a long time after that it became the Triple H show. I officially stopped watching in 2005.

Yea i wish i could have given up the addiction but the constant allure of stale writing and bad acting is so much fun to mock lol

Oh we can't forget about the Diva's. they were once so well choreographed they were actually interesting to watch, but now its just a big sex show when they are involved.

That's because WWE used to hire female wrestlers, who came through the independent curcuits and knew what they were doing. Now they hire fake-breasted bikini models and teach them how to take a few bumps.

With the exception of Gail Kim, Beth Pheonix, and Mickey James, the TNA knockouts would wipe the floor with the Divas in a brawl.

CM Punk's actually finally being allowed to show his potential as a character now. Watch tonight's Smackdown to see what I mean.

Generally though, I agree. One of my favorite things about the Attitude era was how everyone had a character who you could pick out, even the lower card guys. Unless you were jobbing on Shotgun or something, you had a gimmick besides generic looking guy in black trunks.

This mainly applies to Raw though, as Smackdown and ECW seem to have character development down for the most part.

Of Course the Taker hasn't been the same; he's been better. He may have been a lot more athletic when he was younger, but his old age has taught him how to use and work with what he has, and he's been having some really good matches this past decade. His new persona is really just his love of MMA coming out.

Also, I have no clue how Rico (remember him?) didn't make it; the dude could really wrestle.

Because they introduced him as a gay hairdresser, which effectively and permanently buried him with wrestling's most important demographic: homophobes.

WWE also became useless after they bought WCW too. Now they've got no drive and no creativity to bother to keep people interested.

They need some competition again to bring them to the brink of bankruptcy before they'll come up with anything good.

At least they're doing good with DiBiase and Rhodes.

It's sad to say but TNA and ROH suck... I wish they had another big company that would stand against them.

RIP WCW...

RAW sucks a hell of alot more than TNA and ROH, the only thing it has going is it's mid-card division and even that's being mishandled, because the writers love to have Randy Orton fight Cena or Trips all the time over giving anything in the mid-card a decent storyline.

Smackdown > TNA > ECW > ROH >>>>> RAW as far as I see it.

What are you talking about?

That IS their mid card division.
