The following PPV's have been discontinued:
Unforgiven
No Mercy
Cybersunday (SMFH)
In their place will be:
Breaking Point-(Yawn)
Hell in a Cell- ( )
Bragging Rights
Fuckin' WWE.

They could lay off the almost monthly PPV regime and stick to at least 6 PPV's a year. Seriously, most of them have no real use and are snoozefests.

But No Mercy was awesome. And it allowed HHH to cut especially lazy promos.
"Chris Jericho, at No Mercy, I will show YOU no mercy because I am the Gaaaaay-muuuuuuuh!"

Royal Rumble the Sunday before the Super Bowl
Wrestlemania either the last Sunday of March, or first Sunday of April
King of the Ring second Sunday of June
Summerslam last Sunday of August
Survivor Series third Sunday of November
^ this is really all they need, and they're spaced enough to allow for actual build.

As much as I love that idea, there's no way the creative team would ever do SS or KOTR the way they deserve to be done.

We're gonna fire the TV writers and hire me to do it. Wrassle TV really writes itself if they'd just let it.

They should've kept Cybersunday and ECW One Night Stand.

I'm gonna miss Mo Mercy and Unforgiven, although honestly if they do a schedule like Bouya's, it won't be so bad.
I was never a huge fan of Cyber Sunday, but I DID like the innovation in that they were actually trying something new. I'll miss that part going away.

Breaking Point just makes me think of Turning Point, which rolls off the tongue better. Bragging Rights is just wow, it's a horrible name really. Hell in a Cell seems like an attempt to one up TNA's Lockdown.

No no NO, all of the ONSs after the original were a complete disgrace to the awesomeness of the first one, which was an ACTUAL ECW event, not that fake ECW that is only ECW in name that comes on Tuesdays. Hell, the name is not even appropriate for a yearly PPV, how is it a "one night stand" when it's clearly going to happen again?

The PPV name for the Cyber Sunday sub was supposed to be Anihilation, by the way.
Anyway, maybe the theme-based PPVs idea isn't that much bad. Like, Breaking Point will feature submission matches, as far as I know. I never got the point of Cyber Sunday, though. Voting through the internet and all.
It also makes me wonder if when there were brand-specific PPVs, things were different in therms of match build-up.

New label, same boring product.
Is this another corporation's attempt to be "hip and cool" in an attempt to further reach their target demographic and give the consumer more of what they want?
Man, I could BS corporate talk in my sleep. Maybe even better after a margarita...
Predictable.
