So has anybody else seen this yet? I checked it out today and am still pretty mixed, but overall I was entertained. Some random thoughts:

- It felt a little too much like Borat in many respects, just with a different kind of controversy thrown in. It's hard to explain what I mean really, but there was too much of a deja-vu feeling the whole time. This is the brunt of Cohen's humour though I shouldn't have been too suprised.

- Unlike Borat though, which I honestly believe WAS mostly legit, I couldn't help but feel that more of Bruno was scripted this time around. A lot of the stunts gave off a sense that the "victims" were just actors. I could be wrong there and only time well tell, though. If it was mostly legit, the man's a genius at choosing the right victims.

- As you would probably expect, there's a lot of fucked up gay humour in this one. Just beware the scene involving a certain body part spinning and "talking" to the audience. They definitely cranked up the vulgarity this time around.

Overall it got a few uncomfortable laughs out of me, which was about what I expected to recieve. I'd only really recommend it if you were a fan of Borat, though.

Interesting take. I haven't seen it yet myself; I figure I'll wait for DVD. But I'm glad it was at least mostly enjoyable.

I'm curious about the scriptedness though. I wonder if that really is the case.
