I want to play the endless and special stages. I imagine the super crazy difficulty might be interesting, too.

But still, you don't get that nice D-pad + two buttons setup like on the Wii. Playing it on an X360 pad kinda spoils the "classic" feel.

Well, Proto Man mode became available today. I paid 200 points for it and went through the game as him. Needless to say, I enjoyed every microinstant of it.
Pros:
*Chargable buster just like Mega Man used to have
*Sliding ability also just like Mega Man used to have
*Trademark shield that's usable while jumping
Cons:
*Takes hits like school girl compared to Mega Man
*Can't shop
*Absolutely no storyline
I wonder if there'll be a Bass mode.

I got superhero mode. It adds a lot of enemies, moves disappearing blocks and arrow platforms around, and adds a lot of fake 1-ups, among other things. The bosses are all the same. Overall, the levels are a lot trickier, especially when it comes to avoiding pits and spikes, but I beat it without too much trouble. It's fun for a couple of hours at least.

If Superhero Mode fills one of the spaces in the Game Modes menu that's all question marks, then that leaves room for one more mode that may or may not be Bass Mode.

It took almost 7 hours. Every 260ish screens, when you defeat all the robot masters, the damage every enemy does increases by 1.
If you get to 3000 screens a met can 2 hit kill you.
