So far, for this event, I have made about 20-25 visible forum changes. About 8 of them were developed prior to our match starting. While changes are easier now due to infrastructure that I have built, that infrastructure took a few weeks to develop and stabilize.
Long term, the forum will eventually be upgraded and all remaining changes will need to be recoded. Short term, I am guessing that some of the changes will be taken down after the Forum Battles. However, that isn't to say that all changes will be removed. I plan to offer a list of changes to Syd and he will have the final say.
In the mean time, enjoy the creativity. Also remember, this is just the first round. Supporting The Knytehood brings you more technical advice, further adjustments to online personas, and Japanese translation.

Aika, @om*d in Japanese, please. You might want to use atomjacked, but it would be nice to see both if possible.

Are you familiar with the word atom, as in 'atom bomb'? ( at um)That is the first part. The second part is easy, it is simply jacked, as in 'car-jacked', jacked up', jacked off', etc. The past tense of jack. Combine the two and that is how it is pronounced.

Ah I see, so you basically gave me the same thing twice. Japanese works on a syllabary. It's all about pronunciation, not spelling. It would look the same regardless because you are recreating how the word is pronounced.
atomjacked: アトムジャックど "atomujakkudo"
Thunderhorse: サンダーホース "sandaahoosu" It also totally looks awesome if you want to use Japanese kanji instead: 雷馬 would be pronounced "raiba" and totally means thunder horse. Mind you, it's not a real word, but I think most Japanese could read those two together and tell you what it meant.

That maze is vicious. 8D
Hmm. @om*d's raffle intrigues me. I'd be very willing to raffle off some games if we win this round. What would interest you guys? A copy of FFVII? Red Dead Redemption for the PS3? Or some old school SNES games? I do believe I have a copy of Chrono Trigger along with the player's guide that would be happy to find a new home. I am open to suggestions.

Any reason for the "ru" sound?
Also, I know how my forum name and real name would look like (mostly) so please do Saint-François-Xavier de Viger instead (the t is mute)

Nope! Absolutely none. I was clearly quite sleepy when I did that one 8D It should be クラインバタイズ. I didn't even get the romaji right, wow. Thanks for pointing that out.
lol good lord um. To make sure I get the vowels right, you'll have to clarify how that's pronounced. I clearly have no background in French. :3

I'm having fun with finding retro posters that contain 2 males, 1 female, and pop-culture.
I may just keep doing these through the battles:

Aika translated me, GP gave me a horse background, and Knyte has Animaniacs! Bum, you are looking at an uphill battle for my vote.

Aika, I've been learning Katakana in order to play some Japanese games, but I don't understand those hyphens. What do they symbolize and where do you put them?

snilbog, the hyphens indicate long vowels. Japanese is a very rhythmic language, and each syllable is supposed to be the same length. The long vowel means you hold the vowel sound for an extra beat, just like the double-consonant (signified by the little っ or ッ) means an extra beat of silence. Long story short, the hyphens mean you draw out the vowel sound a bit. Hence, the double vowels in the romaji for various names.

Whoever makes me a gif of Spicoli saying "Hey Wave, Let's Party!" Wins my vote.
PS. It has to be small enough for my avatar.
