Look at how weird old Starcraft was in its beta form:
It looked like a weird Warcraft 2 mod at this stage.
Drones fly around and mine minerals off of asteroids, neat
I like this art style, I wanna play this beta.
Some old art of the buildings
Protoss carrier and terran wraiths
Some old units
Dragoons used to be called Templar
Weird looking, huge terran dropships
Weirder still goliaths
Scouts and wraiths
Carriers
More fun times
Super space platformers
So yeah, let's all play some Starcraft!

My first roommate in college (and a close friend of myself, Syd, and Jeebus) succumbed to the brain-rotting spell of Starcraft, never to return. I blame Starcraft for his entire life and the way it panned out.
His schedule:
6am - wake up
6:01 - play starcraft
12pm - break for lunch
12:15 - starcraft
6pm - break for dinner
6:30 - play starcraft
2am - sleep
REPEAT.

Mine's like this
7:30 am - wake up, hit snooze
7:45 am - wake up, get up in a horrible stupor and somehow manage to put on clothing
8:00 am to 2:00 pm - fall asleep in class
2:30 pm - come home, play video games
12:00 am do homework?
2:00 am - sleep
Insert food / shower / bathroom during after school hours, that's pretty much my day

5pm - wake up, go to work.
7am - come home, shower, sleep.
eating and bathroom was handled on breaks.

Dating sims (and visual novels) are the most underrated genre of games in existence. It just TEARS MY ASS APART for another person to berate this genre.
Dating sims are engaing and fun in it's own way. It's just the fact that the ones that were actually translated in English involved sex/hentai, and that really is bad.
Knowing the Japanese language has enabled me to play the better half of this genre (Konami's Tokimeki Memorial series is the absolute best.) and I only wish that they could majorly release one dating sim WITHOUT SEX, on console, but no one will listen to a lone man.
Dating sims do not suck. (Sorry, my friend, but I had to rant. I'm really sorry.)
Oh, and I played Sprung for DS. It didn't fail because of lack of interest.. It failed because it was terrible. I played it back when the DS launched in '04.

I think COA should retain rights to the classic Street Fighter games, so they can still milk rerelease after relelease, but they should loan out the rights to make NEW Street Fighter games to SNK Playmore. Who are the only company that still knows how to make good 2D fighters!

Redraw all the sprites, (Take advantage of being able to use 1080p and 16,777,216 mixed colors !) and give us 60 FPS! If a move takes 2 seconds to perform, then by god it better use 120 different frames of animation! I want the ULTIMATE 2D Fighting game, and I know that I am not the only one!

I'm not a big fan of the Capcom/SNK games because they use the Alpha movesets as opposed to the much more fun VS. movesets.

If you can find me a good dating sim to play, I'll try it out and get back to you. There are a lot fan-translation patches for PC games, so you might be able to.
But I've played too many scary Japanese sim games to just take your word for it. Like for instance, I played this one game where you run a maid service/brothel. You had to teach the girls how to clean during the day and rape them at night. You had to find a good balance though, because if you made them clean too much, they'd be too tired for rape and if you raped them too much, they'd be too tired clean. Also, you had to buy them presents so that they didn't hate you so much... because of all the rape.

There's a good one called "True Love", that doesn't involve any raping, as multiple paths, a decent story, and you acually have to do more than click through hours of text, to occasional make a "Option 1 or 2?" decision. You have to ballance your schooling, your social skills, you work, and such to be successful. It's great fun, and I was addicted to it for far too long.
