Jurassic Park 3. The whole movie was pretty dumb, but come on. It was like they didn't want to even finish making the movie. They're being chased by a pteranadon or something, and someone says "I think I hear a helicopter!" and suddenly the military is there to bail them out.

Hahaha great call. I remember rather enjoying JP 3 (if only because I'm a big Sam Neil fan and it was great to have Dr. Grant back), but I had forgotten about that. Even at the time I was like, "wtf? Where did they come from all of a sudden?" (I know technically Ellie got a phone call or something, but it was still really, really goofy.)

Fuck, even AFTER the books came out, when Lucas re-did ROTJ, he didn't show any hint of evil still existing. He just added in more planets celebrating that happy days had arrived. |
That's not even the worst of it. In the newest DVD version of ROTJ, they fucking edited out the original actor who played Anakin (Sebastian Shaw) and replaced him with with Hayden Christensen.

Yeah, that makes ALOT of sense. It seems the whole nature of the Jedi spirits was retconned, so then when you die after returning to the light side, you retain your physical form as you were before you first turned to the dark side.
It's a load of bullshit, really. And what kind of example is that setting? I'll bet that if Obi-Wan had known that, he would have turned to the dark side as a teenager and then turned right back so he could keep his younger body after death.

Anakin's lucky he didn't turn to the Dark Side as a child. Talk about awkward, spending all of eternity trapped as a Force Ghost that looks like Jake Lloyd.

Most horror movies ) have a thing for introducing characters that are fucking awesome, and then killing them off and leaving you to deal with a horribly written cast filled with irritating teenagers (hello almost every zombie movie ever)

At least Return of the Living Dead kept the cool black guy alive until the end.

Gran Torino had a stupid ending (and terrible acting all the way through). Clint only got critical attention because he used more slurrs than a klan member.
SPOILER:
Falling down with arms outspread like a cross? That symbolism is about as deep as a puddle.

The slurs were for shock value, I hope. The acting was pretty good, but the movie got kinda boring after awhile.
When he called the girl "Yum-Yum" I knew I wasn't gonna like it as much.

Aw, I love Gran Torino.
And the slurs weren't for shock value. Walt had fought in the Korean War and worked for an American car company. He was harboring a lot of a generic hatred toward Asians. And he was an old school blue collar worker, and that's just how they were. Look at his relationship with barber. They go back and forth, saying horrible things to each other, but underneath that, they're good friends.

For me , it was just him saying "Gook" or "Zipperheads" every other minute that got me to label it shock value. It's an ok movie , but it feels like I've seen the same plot before .
The editing is another story...
