Pretty sure you see Eddie Brock's skeleton. Some of the symbiote could have survived though, I suppose.

Eddie Brock is clearly dead. It's possible some of the symbiote survive, as Syd said, which means they can have Gargan become Venom and eat people. Venom is only good when he's eating people.

Are you sure they couldn't have him be Scorpion first?

I'm sure that extra piece of symbiote is for carnage.

Well Gwen Stacy is like the most tragic character in the Marvel Universe, whereas MJ has yet to ever die, as far as I know.

Did you know that her death actually ended comics' Silver Age and began its Bronze Age?

I hate practically everything associated with the Spiderman movie franchise, I wish it would go crawl somewhere and die.

An attack on the Spider-man movies is an attack on Bruce Campbell!

The one thing I would absolutely love to see is "Kravens Last hunt" translated into movie form...but on the other hand I don't because I know they would water down it's awesomeness to fit a pg - pg13 mold. Either that or a retelling of the Deadly Foes of Spider-Man arc. Both of these would probably be better served as animation however.
Carnage would be amazing...if they had the balls to make it a R rated movie. Anything else and the character is going to be laughable I fear. I am just paranoid after the last outing that they are just going to lay the cheese on, instead of really getting to the core of what makes the character Spider-man / Peter Parker and his enemies so appealing. I don't know about anyone else but personally after seeing the dark knight I want more than the same old formula from Marvel. I want Drama, Intensity, and a direction for the overall series.
No more Mary Jane for gods sake...I want to see some Black Cat action. This post has gone longer than i planned so I will finish and just say, they have a massive amount of material to make substantial and powerful films, but we all know more or less what we will be getting next time around.
My personal theory is MJ and Peter want to get married, Conflict of some sort between them, a bad guy( best case scenario is Mysterio)rips shit up, action scenes galore, MJ gets caught....again, cue big fight scene where the bad guy dies, a long awaited wedding, end credits. yawn. I am Still optimistic that the next one will be better though.
BTW: Anyone else hopeful to see a Infinity Gauntlet movie series in their lifetime? Now I know I am dreaming lol

I think that's debatable, I think things were starting to change slowly and this was just the story that made the people notice the change. I mean the speedy drug issue happened years prior.

Did that happen in this new Marvel universe? In the comic I followed that was the Green Goblin that killed Gwen Stacy. I don't follow the new shit, so that could have changed now.

You're right, I was mistaken. They even basically have the scene in the first movie, except with Mary Jane instead of Gwen Stacy, and the girl surviving instead of Spider-Man snapping her neck.

I checked, look very carefully, you can see Topher Grace's skeleton remains for a brief moment before turning to ash. Raimi obviously did not want to bring Grace back on. Seriously though, if Raimi is to make a forth movie it should be the sequel every Ash fan has wanted for the past decade

How about Marvel Zombies vs Ash?

It was called Marvel Zombies vs. Army of Darkness. It was a 5 issue mini series, and it was astonishingly good. Also, it features Howard the Duck eating Ash's brains.

loved that miniseries. I loved how all the villans are like "we have to work together to survive this zombie apocalypse!" and punisher was like "ummm... nope." and lights them all up, regardless of the chaos going on outside.

It was also one of those times that Doctor Doom > Reed Richards, in which Reed fucks up really bad just because he got a scientific hard-on, whereas Doom attempted to save humanity (in his own way, but still...).

Although since you bring up Reed, the first appearance of the Marvel Zombies in ultimate FF is pretty fucking awesome. Also, Zombie Reed Richards has my favorite zombie related line ever: "Just because we want to eat your brains doesn't mean we don't have any of our own".

That line is right up there with Jonathan Coulton's Re: Your Brains
