Latest news: The DVD will be released on April 28. And there's a new post about it with a behind-the-scenes pic on the Dark Maze blog.

Also, I'm going to hold off on putting up the trailer until we're closer to the release date. But it's definitely coming. And lastly, even though you probably already saw this on the site, here's the poster:

Do we get a Sydlexia discount, and I can't wait to own this. Also, how do I find RPG shells unused randomly laying around?

No SydLexia discount, I'm afraid. As for finding RPGs laying around... it's a Turkish secret. They don't tell foreigners.

Dude, this is amazing! Good on you for putting so much work into something you want to do. Here's hoping for a great release, successful sales, and many more movies to come!

(I guess its implied, but I will mentioned I am SO TOTALLY GETTING THIS when it comes out!) Cheers!

I'm buying it. You showed off a scene from it a long time ago, it got me interested in the movie.

This is pretty much the coolest thing ever. Great job! I am impressed by the amount of work you had to have put into getting this thing released. I will be grabbing a copy as soon as you make it available. Did I mention this was awesome already?

Thanks!! And in other news, tonight is the last night of voice over recording.

Funny story. When I received the betacam of Korkusuz from Turkey, I discovered -- after first sending it to a lab to be transferred and paying a chunk of cash -- that the tape had black bars over the top and bottom of the screen, as if it was a widescreen film. (It's not.) Here's a comparison to the YouTube version:

Image

Naturally I was pretty freaked out, 'cause it's easy to tell that's not the way it's supposed to be displayed. Moreover, that was the only copy the producers had (film preservation in Turkey is essentially nil), and even finding an original VHS tape to use as a master is virtually impossible (not to mention much lower quality). It looked like I was going to have to release either a matted version or a low-quality bootleg version, neither of which were particularly appealing options.

Then, on New Years Eve, I received a mysterious package from Turkey. It was another betacam of Korkusuz, with no note or explanation attached. I emailed the producer to ask what the deal was (did they just send the movie again for no reason?), and was told that it was in fact the full screen version! They had found it!

So the story has a happy ending, and I'm thrilled to be releasing the best version of the film available. You know, the best version of... Turkish... Rambo... WHAT!?

Yeah.

Well that would've sucked if you had to do a matted version, but that's awesome that you got the full screen one!

I love the popping noise whenever the RPG launcher fires.

Thanks guys! Just went over the final mix with Jake yesterday, and it sounds INCREDIBLE. The new score is just phenomenal -- you have to hear it to believe it.

It's worth noting that the music in the trailer is not from the new score, since I cut the trailer before Jake's score was ready. The music in the final product is so much better.

Wicked awesome! When I get paid next week it'll be the first thing I get.

I can't stop laughing at the trailer, the RPG's special effects are state of the art!
