I heard they discontinued the Wavebird a while back?
Also on the topic of Mario Galaxy I finished it for Mario, working on it with Luigi now.
What the fuck were they on when they decided to have Luigi rescue himself? |
No talking about it.
Or I point Greeneyedzeke at this post and he does terrible things to you. He hasn't played it yet and he has promised death to anyone who ruins it for him.

No, they haven't discontinued the Wavebird. The regular GCN controller, yes.

Huh. See that's what I thought because I haven't seen any regular official GCN controllers anywhere recently, save a handful of used ones at Gamestop. Just the shitty MadCatz ones.
But also I read somewhere that they were discontinuing the Wavebird back in early January. Maybe they got their facts messed up.

You could still use a GC controller for it though, couldn't you?

Yes, but now you won't be able to buy the wireless version of the GCN controller. This is quite problematic, because the wired controller doesn't work well the Wii at all. The ports are on the top of the system and the wires are way too short, so there's a tendency to knock the system over accidentally by pulling on the cord during intense video game action. I actually didn't own Wavebirds until I got my Wii. I bought Metal Slug Anthology and Jeebus and I kept knocking the system over, so I was like fuck this and bought a couple of Wavebirds.

Are there any big differences between the two? Besides the Wavebird being wireless of course.

The classic is shitty unless it's for games that have a lot of shoulder button usage, like F-Zero.

The classic is good for VC stuff. It is not so great for GCN and Wii games.

Does anyone have any problems with their Wiimotes? For some reason, my Wii will only let me use the Wiimote that came with it as the 1P remote and it is being a prick about recognizing other remotes. Last night my sister and I played some Bubble Bobble and the fucking system wouldn't recognize her Wiimote, so I gave her a Wavebird to use. Then the system decided to make the Wavebird the first player and me the second player. It was gay. I had a similiar problem on Christmas. Jeebus and I were gonna play some Strikers, but we couldn't get it to recognize the second remote.

My Wii has no problem recognizing our second remote, but when I was playing Red Steel over at my friend's house we had a hell of a time getting my remote to sync.
