I enjoyed Avatar but it is by far not best picture material. Titanic was also not best picture material. I thought L.A. Confidential was a much more deserving film. If Avatar does win I will be very disappointed in the Academy.

Did Fisher fuckin' Stevens JUST win an Oscar?
And now Tyler Perry is presenting? WTF is going on? Annnnnd he just made a "joke" that did not go over, much like any of his "humor".
And I agree IceStorm, LA Confidential was awesome.

I hate how Kathy Bates had to mention Avatar being the highest grossing movie. To me that kind of information is not needed in presenting a best picture nominee. Also the only reason Avatar is the highest grossing movie of all time is because seeing it in 3D costs more than seeing it in 2D. On top of ticket price inflation 3D movies usually tack on a few extra dollars to see them in 3D. i just hate how many media outlets spin this whole Avatar thing without even mentioning inflation and the extra money charged to see it in 3D.

What was with him calling nearly everybody "man."? Also I am so not wanting Sandra Bullock to win best actress. I'd much rather see Meryl Streep win. However I read an article yesterday that said that Bullock will most likely win because she will probably never be nominated again while Streep gets nominated all the time.

Yeah, that's her.
Well Sandra Bullock won. She even asked if she really earned it, not really in my opinion. But of course we all saw this coming because she won all the other best actress awards leading up to this.

Jeez...quit sucking Avatar's dick! We get it...Avatar is super successful, quit shoving it down our throats. At this point the amount of money a movie has made should not even be a factor in my opinion.
Good to see Kathryn Bigelow win.

Yeah I was happy but a bit surprised big blue didn't snag best picture. BTW did anyone else notice they forgot Farah Fawcett and Bea Arthur in the In Memoriam section of the show? Honest mistake I am sure but Christ what a oversight.

I think it's fucking hilarious that Kathryn Bigelow is James Cameron's ex-wife.

I read this was one of the Oscars' worst moments:
Dunno about that, but I do find hilarious how James Cameron looks pissed as hell during this skit.

Oh fuck off, it was a nice speech. Jeff Bridges has always been a laid back type of person and his speech was representative of that. He didn't get on a soapbox like other actors.

I think he was stoned. Or maybe having an acid flashback or something. Either way, He's the man.
Once again Quentin gets snubbed. I mean, I didn't expect IB to win Best Picture or even Best Director, but it should have snagged best Screenplay easily. The Jew Hunter was one of the best written characters of all time.

I feel like I'm the only one who is never impressed with Tarentino movies. I LOVED Jackie Brown but that's like...it.

I thought "The Hurt Locker" was about Bret 'The Hitman' Hart's finishing move, but found out it's really a movie about Iraq...oh well, maybe the Iron Sheik is in it.

I've loved all of Tarantino's movies, but IG fell flat for me. I didn't see Tarantino taking as many risks with the movie as he normally does so there was nothing really special about it. Also, the actual Inglorious Basterds actually had nothing to do with the main plotline of the film and thus were fairly pointless characters.
I did like the alternate history angle Tarantino took though which was fun instead of sticking to reality, and how hot was Diane Kruger? All in all though, it wasn't one of Tarantino's best.
