I can honestly say that I enjoyed Sonic Heros, but SA2 pissed me off with Rouge and Knuckes gem hunts... I only played Sonic Advanced two and it's fun, it reminds me of the old games but much simpler. I plan on getting Sonic Rush actually.

i never played a 3d sonic game. except for 3d blast on the genesis.
im planning on getting a dreamcast (only $35 at bookmans for a console + controller... dont know if it includes a VMU or not) and im wondering if i should pick up those adventure games on dreamcast or if i should just pick up the gamecube iterations.
or should i start off elsewhere? like w/sonic heroes or sonic & the rings? or whatever it was called

The GCN versions of SA and SA2 have extra stuff added. So I'd say get those versions.
The GCN version of SA2 is slightly edited though. In the original version of SA2, there are Big the Cat cameos in every level. Sega removed them for the GCN version for no real reason. The explanation was that since SA1 hadn't been released on the GCN, people playing it on that system wouldn't know who Big was and would be so confused by his constant appearances that they'd throw down their controllers in frustration and give the game a 1/10 rating on GameFAQs. Or something like that. And then a year or two later, they released the original game on the Gamecube anyway. So, whatever.

I don't know what it was I didn't like about Sonic Heroes, but it held my interest through about 2 and one half teams. There's just not enough difference between teams Hero, Dark, and Rose to make the game very interesting, and the Chaotix team gets kind of old after a while, though I like the idea.
And the voice acting. GAH!

sonic chronicles was a great idea, except that you had to use the stylus for EVERYTHING. if they made a sequel i'd probably buy it.

Actually (and a lot of people don't know this) the Gamecube version of SA2 didn't completely remove Big, there are certain cut-scenes where you can press a combination of buttons you get him to cameo

you can probably get this for like twenty bucks on the ps2 or wii now, as it's been out for some time. I got the ps2 version just so I didn't have to use the dick waving controls, but the prices should be identical.

I only watch about 10 seconds of that video, but I think I just developed A.D.D. It's crazier than Yo Gabba Gabba.

to hell with yo gabba gabba. I watched that for like eight seconds while babysitting before exclaiming to nobody in particular "I am nowhere NEAR high enough to be watching this" and changed the channel.
