Hell, with the economy the way it is anymore, I'm sure there's a lot of people with college educations working at Chili's. Times, they are cruel 'ard.

I went to my 5th year reunion back in '07 (graduated in '02). We had the reunion the same place that we had the prom at. Out of a graduating class of about 280+ people (I think about 2 in my graduating class are dead), maybe around 120 people showed up.

At first during part of the night, my stubbornness emerged, and I kinda isolated myself away from others. But then I realized that was dumb on my part, and eventually started talking to people and had a pretty good night overall. There was a dance floor and DJ, but not that many people were dancing.

A lot of people were dancing at my 5 year reunion, but only a few drunk expopular girls at the 10 year. I say expopular because at this point it doesn't really matter if you were popular 10 years ago. And that is precisely the point as to why it is nice to go. People are just interested to see what you became. It doesn't even have to be anything spectacular, they just want to know what happened to that kid who they sat next to in English class for 5-10 years.

I didn't want to go to the 5 year or 10 year but I forced myself to and am glad I did.

I run in to people I went to school with, and despite looking drastically different than I did ten years ago they all recognize me immediately. It's weird because I never have any idea who the fuck they are. Confused

I was home one summer maybe only 3 years after I graduated and some people didn't recognize me. I don't know if that's a good thing or bad thing.

I'm not sure how to fell about the phenomenon. On one had I feel I must have made some sort of impact since they recognize me so instantly despite my radical change in appearance, on the other had it makes me worry that they're creepy psychos. Neutral

My thoughts exactly, except I didn't have a 5 year reunion. But it didn't seem like anyone cared who you were 10 years ago. They seemed more interested in what ever happened to you. Everyone was talking to everyone. It wasn't ackward and nobody seemed to feel out of place.

I can understand why somebody would feel uncomfortable at first if they went alone and hadn't kept in touch with anyone. You would have that feeling of walking in the cafeteria not knowing who to sit by, not wanting to be the guy sitting all alone like you are Steven fucking Glandsberg. But even if anyone felt like that initially, I think it passed because everyone seemed extra friendly. But I actually went with my best friend. Even though he wasn't in my grade, he is living with a girl who was, so he went and I sat with them. On the other hand, going to my wife's, where I didn't know anyone was uncomfortable for me. This is why I told my wife she didn't have to go.

I just think it was a lot better than I anticipated. I will probably go to the rest of them as long as it is convenient or I don't have some prior obligation.

At reunions they wear name tags.

My reunions in 2 years and I'm probably gonna go. I insist on bringing my own alcohol in a orange juice bottle, kinda like high school. I'll be goddamned if I will ever pay more than 6 dollars for a single drink.

Mine was $40 per person flat fee. It was a shitty deal.

I drank two beers and my wife had water.

They claimed there was food but I never saw it. So I paid $80 to have two drinks. It was worth it though to see my old classmates. I can spare the $80 once every 10 years.

Sometimes. We didn't have them at our five year reunion, and I seriously doubt they did at my ten year, given the location.
