Which ones are you having trouble with? The only ones I'm missing as of now are 15 missions in co-op, and they'll tell two friends, united we stand and the action skill ones
EDIT: I'm also missing the Level 40 and 50 ones as well

Yea lots of people are having this problem (me included), hopefully they patch it soon.
Of course you can always start a new character to try and get some of the "glitched" achievements, but we shouldn't have to.
Still love the game though, on my second play through. What lvl you at?
Anybody else notice the amount of similarities between this and Phantasy Star Online? People compare it more to Diablo, but I feel it's more PSO-meets-FPS.

The gameplay and presentation (and atmosphere in general) remind me alot ond Bioshock, I am surprised I have not seen that comparison more often, especially since the game is published by 2K.
I must say that I felt that I misled myself about the weapon randomizer. I thought it meant that it would make different-looking guns, where you'd pick up random different guns, and they'd all have different looking stocks, barrels, scopes, etc. I didn't think it just meant that there about 2 or 3 different kinds of each gun with the stats just randomized.
So here's to you Mrs. Robinson. People love you more- oh, nevermind.

I must say, I think most of the guns look noticeably different, you just have to really look at the weapons to take notice.
My friend and I are getting rocked at Sledge's place.
Then again, we've not been playing much. But we love every respawning minute of it.

Respawning is so frustrating when they take away alot of money, however it adds even more incentive to stay alive. The "second wind" is a nice touch that really helps.
I just got this game, and its good. Very satisfying and much better than a WoW meats Halo should be. Skill accounts for something, the shield part is used in tandem with the HP part, giving you incentive to play smart, and the RPG aspects feel like they add to the experience rather than being tacked on.
Complaints, the first is the second wind, because if you get knocked out just before you kill the enemy you can't resurrect. The second complaint is the driving, which is really really awkward.
Mordekai is a golden god, and I cannot imagine playing as anyone else. I guess his disadvantage is that he doesn't have a action thing that saves his ass like the others, but that would imply that there is a situation where he hasnt already killed everything before it got within revolver distance, of which I don't believe occurs.

wow, you guys are getting DLC already:
Quote:
Borderlands' "Zombie Island" DLC Releasing November 24
Borderlands' first round of DLC, "The Zombie Island of Dr. Ned," got a release date this morning. Expect the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions of the add-on to arrive on November 24. The PC version, on the other hand, went unmentioned in the press release.
In case you missed the original announcement, this DLC will take players to Jakobs Cove, where a fellow by the name of Dr. Ned has -- perhaps unwittingly -- transformed the local workforce into a rotting army of undead atrocities. It falls on the shoulders of the loot-crazed Vault hunters to discover a cure and bring peace back to the Cove, although let's be honest here: Nothing cures a case of zombie plague like a shotgun blast to the face.
Releasing almost an entire month after Halloween, "The Zombie Island of Dr. Ned" isn't the most timely of add-ons, but it sounds like it could be a hoot either way. It'll cost you $9.99 (800 Microsoft points) when it shows up November 24.
I can't wait for the DLC. I'll probably be done my second playthrough by then, hopefully.

On the achievements, the one big one I've heard about has been Pandora-dog millionaire. It's got something to do with playing in co-op I know that much. I've heard that you can either have no one get it at all, or only one person gets it. Dunno if it's exclusive to just split-screen or if it also bugs out four player etc.
I've got "And They'll Tell Two Friends" if any of you folks need to pick it up, you're welcome to leech it off of me, my Gamertag is Jon Mustang.
On another note,
Same here for the DLC, I never thought I'd be one to whore myself out for DLC, funny how things change.
I dunno how far into my first play I am, just that my hunter is level 26 I think, and I've also got a Berserker thats 22... I Like to pharm. Total playtime is right around 4 days or so I think. Anybody gotten any weapons above purple yet, gold/orange/pearlesent, and if so about what level or where did you find them?

I've gotten everything but pearlescent, but I hear that's just a glitch, anyway.
If you want to find rares, you're best off looking in red chests, but otherwise, it's random. However, there is this one hidden chest that has a higher rate of getting great items than the others.

I'm back, finished my first playthough as a hunter. The game just wouldn't end! I kept thinking there wasn't going to be that much more to it, but then it just kept giving me a little bit more, little more. At 1Day 23Hours 33Minutes and some second change, I'm still very happy with my purchase, and that hasn't happened recently for me with buying a game as a new release. For once in a long while I can say even if I decided to never play the game again, I'd be very happy with the $57ish I spent.
I kinda feel a little silly near the end I was going back and forth between all sniper and all handguns, never quite getting the right gear to pull either of them off. But then I got my hands on one of the gunslinger mods that has pistol ammo regen, among other things. Finished the game just with a white 122 damage machine pistol, but I loved every moment of it, the power of a Mini Gun, in a convenient 3lb. package...and a scope.
I think once I hit 50 with my hunter I'll play a Siren, kinda interested in Quicksilver and High Velocity, sounds kinda nice.
Anyway just bumping it back up a last time. Also, anybody else still messing around with it?

I'm still playing.
I was playing as Mordecai exclusively, but I just suddenly got the bug at about 30th level to try a siren, and now I keep darting around three characters and never quite getting them leveled up. Here are my thoughts-
Roland-Haven't played much as him. He's a socially inclined class, and uses a lot of shotguns and combat rifles, meaning I don't feel a powerful need to try him out. I've heard he's good, but then I've heard that about everyone of them.
Mordecai-I've said it before. In the game of shooting its distance and stopping power that rule the day. I've also heard someone at my gamestop made him a hawkmaster and that the choice payed serious dividends, which is crazy because I wrote that option off as a novelty and moved on. My only complaint is that his talent tree is pretty well divided evenly, so there's not as much thrill in tweaking him.
Lillith- I kinda like lillith, in that her talent tree gives you a broad range of ways to build her. The obviously nasty one is just focusing on her phase walk to the point where you can practically phase walk again right after she comes back, meaning you can phase when your shield goes, let it recharge, and inflict damage on the exit, entrance, and the electric aura. Later in the game I want to try a respec where she focuses on melee attacks, but for right now just making her a good SMG bunny is working just fine. Get the healing phasewalk and the skirmisher shield. Tis worth it.
Brick- The problem is his action command doesn't work with his guns, so your strategy ends up revolving around his rage or ignoring entirely. I got bored pretty quick. There was also this weird situation where I would have lost health after the battle, so I would activate my rage and just sit there, which in turn doesn't sit right with me.
In general:
-Getting some kind of healing on the talents is important both from a tactical standpoint and a "I don't want to have to pull a goddamn healing shield out and sit on my ass after every fight" standpoint.
-Shotguns disappoint me. It just feels like its always missing and it never has quite the stopping power you were looking for. Launchers don't hurt as much as a missile should, so that too.
-The second wind thing is nifty, I like its presence, but there's a weird vampire vibe of keeping angry skag whelps or midgets around to bring yourself back to life. Also, if you don't take a single shot after the second wind kicks in, you should come back free of charge.
-There are only three women living on this planet. Thats it. Ratio-wise, thats worse than Final Fight. Just sayin. In fact, you really just end up killing everyone you meet, not much of a economy to speak of.
-Is there a name for a put-upon declared mascot in videogames? Like a slime but not endearing or a moogle but worse and bloody everywhere? If not, I'm nominating Claptrap.

1.> I agree with this too, I can't see myself without Riotous Remedy on my hunter. I can't help but feel like such a turd with healing too. I can't say there has ever been a time with him that I've exclusively just sat still to wait for my health to recharge though. Then again I was using a level 3 Panacea shield that had 60 shields and quick hp regen until the high 20's when I got the Wee Wee Booster shield. Funny that even with 42 inventory slots I can't be bothered to carry at least 1 Medkit with me either though.
2.> I've found some BOSS shotguns though, alot have been kinda subpar but I've found some scoped ones that have had a nice targeting ring to them not much larger than most revolver scopes, and thats with no proficiency to speak of etc. if you're looking for narrow spread you want a shotgun, not a scatter or matador etc. If I'm not mistaken they have the tightest shot group of all shotgun sub-types. The one thing I hate is cover for the most part is an illusion in this game, I don't think there has ever been one fight that I've been able to have a good bead on a guy, and not get hit by 'someones' stray combat rifle/pistol/SMG. About the only place cover came into effect honestly I think was the final boss.
3.> I didn't think I was going to like second wind, just because everything I read had made it into an "I win" button, that you will never really be able to die in the game, not true. I did find that the difficulty is very plateau-ish. It'll be real hard for like 3 levels, then once you gain 3 or 4 levels you start mowing through guys, then rinse and repeat.
4.> I Honestly never took that one into account. Only thing I can figure is that since Pandora was a prison colony before the Vault rumors happened, maybe it was just an all male penitentiary, that knowledge might keep the XX's away from planet for the most part? Dunno at least I took a stab at it. hah.

I got this game just before the 4th of July sale ended with Steam. I am loving it. I have gotten a Siren to level 20 and have been focusing on burst pistols and SMGs with elemental attacks.
I am pretty good at FPS on PCs, so this has been a ton of fun since there is extensive content. I'd say I have about 10 hours in so far and am still heavily entertained.
On July 10th I got Mario Galaxy 2 as a gift, and since Yoshi pisses me off to no end, I am liking Borderlands a bit more.
I look forward to playing through with a different class and possibly seeing how respecs can adjust the game play. I know I am late to the party, but is anyone else still playing?
