Holy crap. That was quite the finale. At least it didn't end us on a huge cliffhanger or anything. Thoughts?

Amazing episode. I cannot wait for next season. The unveiling of the prison was so awesome, even after the first appearance of the new character. And we finally know what Jenner said! Oh, and the "I killed my best friend for you people" line was pretty intense.

I like how they've redeemed Andrea to the fans. I also like how armless zombies on leashes are the new high fashion accessory.

I expected more people to die. Srsly. I had detached myself from as many people as possible.

I thought the opening with the zombies marching towards the farm was goofy as fucking fuck. The rest of the episode was great though.

Hey! This sounds so much like me! You know, in real life! Not in relation to the Walking Dead.

I must concur. It was a pretty bad imitation of the first few minutes of Day of the Dead.

After the aforementioned opener, it's like the whole episode was devoted to making up for a so-so sophomore season.

I disagree with the idea that the season has been sub-par. I thought that the back half at least was stellar.

I thought the whole season was great. We were never promised "NON STOP ZOMBIE ACTIONS!!" and I think the whole season did a great job of fleshing out the relationships between the main group.

Kirkman said his goal is to make the zombies threatening and scary. He said something like: "If you had five badass zombies in every episode doing five badass things, the zombies would lose their effect."

See, and I can agree with that. Things did pick up towards the end of the season, but compared to most of the first season, things certainly meandered a little bit, especially with the 'search for Sophia' thing. The last episode, though, man, it was like the head of a new drum. I don't want non-stop zombie attacks either, part of the allure is the character development. Shit, I'm even starting to like T-Dog! Still, though, I think now that they're working out the kinks in having a pretty big writer's switch, things're going to start getting on better and better.

Otis has an amazing shotgun. My cousin and I burst out laughing, he re-watched it and counted 22 shots prior to reloading and 17 after putting 2 shells in.

It's a Mossberg pump action narrative-feed shotgun.

But yeah, Hershel mowing down zombies with his badass shotgun while dressed in his Sunday best was pretty awesome.

My girlfriend even noticed that. Herschel unlocked unlimited ammo there, man.

I disagree, I think it ties the herds of roaming walkers with Rick's sighting of the helicopter nicely; It certainly seems like the helicopter is coming and going from the prison (or at least in that direction) so it makes sense that it would attract the attention of a bunch of zombies initially which would probably snowball to a massive crowd for a short while as more hear or just join in because the crowd sweeps past them and they just start following, and then peter out a bit after they can no longer see/hear it. Still, since they're already moving and too stupid to think about why, the herd would probably keep wandering in the initial direction it was headed in until it lost enough members to just dissolve again or met a farmstead full of tasty people to eat.

That being said, I felt the finale was little more than clear out the characters no one remembers/cares about, change the setting and not much else. My roommates had to remind me which nondescript blonde girl it was that was getting killed now. Unlike everyone else in existence, I don't find katana girl all that amazing. Probably because up until now, the show was good about having the characters act like they're in the real world as it related to choice of weapons, being careful of attracting attention, being (usually) smart about survival, etc. Not that a katana is a bad weapon choice, but keeping two zombies chained to you no matter how you neuter them is a terribly stupid idea. Even without limbs and, as people tell in the comics, jaws, they can still try to gum you with their top teeth, scratch you with their toenails (I mean accidentally, not like zombie velociraptors), they could easily tangle you in their chains when you're running from walkers with jaws and arms...

I can see how the introduction of Michonne could be confusing to someone whose only knowledge of the series is only the TV show, but I think it'll end up making a lot more sense once we get to know her and the events that led up to her meeting Andrea.

I'm not confused by anything, I think it's too far of a deviation for a live action show to be realistic. You can do whatever the hell you want in comics and it's fine, but if you're going to approach this show like it's what would happen if zombies somehow were real, your first and foremost concern would be to never be bit, scratched or in anyway come in contact with the bodily fluids of zombies. That would be the first thing you learned and the first thing you ever thought about because one slight mistake and you're as good as dead. You would not, ever, in a million fucking years keep two zombies as "pets" or whatever. And I know in the comics she has a relation to at least one of them so I'm not sitting here saying "SHE GOT 2 ZOMBIEEES, DURRR!" I understand, I just think it's a fucking stupid risk that NO ONE would ever take if this situation was real. And seeing how this show up until now has had exactly one deviation from reality with the zombies themselves (well, and Herschel's magic shotty), it just seems kind of stupid to throw in Awesome Ninja Chick with Katana and Armless/Jawless Zombies on Chains with Loyalty Action-Feature! TM. If we're going to be like this about it, why didn't Rick just find a Viking helmet and fire up that tank in season one after chaining a bunch zombies to the front, then drive through the city blasting "Ride of the Valkyries" as he took super accurate headshots with a shotgun from a mile away, somehow simultaneously firing the tank's main gun?

Waiting for the spoiler rage. Until then, you have real people in the world claiming to be saviors, giving people poison to drink willfully for their salvation. You have people that are attracted to fences, trees, and other inanimate objects. You even have people that honestly believe they're super heroes. I don't see how that would be any crazier than any other nutjob out there.

"Zombies? Totally realistic. Someone keeping them on chains? FUCK THAT!"

He never once said anything about them being realistic, he's just discussing the hypothetical's here, don't be so assy and rude.
