Being addicted to the show Dexter, having a DVR, and working while it's on, only to come home, attempt to watch it, and have the DVR give me a "Recording Error" message.

Not only is that not right, that's not even wrong. It's a meaningless statement. Saying something is "one molecule away" from plastic is like saying a farm is one letter away from a fart. Water is "one molecule away" from being explosive hydrogen gas. |

I'm confused. Did they call out the National Guard for a rave or something? Because policemen don't tend to wear camo (not even SWAT units) and its very, very rare that even one officer, let alone all of them, are carrying military/SWAT-style assault rifles. Also, if people did escape with footage, why has this not been all over the news? You'd think they would eat up a story that involves three big officers beating a young woman while she's being mauled by a police dog.
Maybe I'm just not understanding the full story here, but color me skeptical.

I read it as soldiers, not actual police. and just because they send footage to the news doesn't mean they will air it. "Network" anyone?

My left eye is really sore...it's not inflamed or anything, just every time I blink it tears up from the pain...really annoying.

They sent the *National Guard* in to break up a *rave*? Once again I find that super-hard to believe. Not saying its impossible at all, but that is highly, highly unlikely.

I know what you mean, though I've kind of moved away from smoking altogether, I dip less often relative to how often I smoked, probably because 1 tin of Cope/Skoal/Whatever = about the same amount of nicotine as 3 packs of cigs, and it's easier going to the gym now that I can breathe. Sure you look like a backwoods Yokel doing it, but...erm, I have nothing, you just look like a hick doing it.*

Three hours of sleep? Come on Jeebus, I work nightshift. I do that all week. I mean, as a result I have a bacterial infection on my tongue and other scary looking rashes, but yeah, that's what I live on.

I'm gonna have to agree with Ross. Try getting 4 hours of sleep on top of a 20 hour awakeness because of two last minute "Hey, we need you to work" things.

Back in the day when I was working at Toys R Us (Christmas time!) and finishing up finals in college, I went around 10 days without sleep. It got to the point where I COULDN'T sleep...it was scary.

Dodd, that is fucking terrifying. Seriously.
And yeah, I once worked a triple shift over a weekend. I worked Friday 11pm-Saturday 7am, didn't sleep, Saturday 2pm-10pm, went to bed, and Sunday- 8am-4pm. That was fucking awful.

Haha...yeah luckily I got back on track soon after that.
Now that I'm without a job, I find myself sleeping too much.

When I was in high school I would regularly get 3-4 hours of sleep and in college I would frequently stay up for 30 hours at a time, but it's getting harder in my old age. Once I finally woke up, though, things got better and I've been lucid and awake all day.

i have to agree w/Dr J. now that we are older, its harder to run on only 2-3 hours of sleep. i used to be able to stay up all night on friday, to go to work on saturday, and stay up all saturday to party all saturday night. then recover on sunday.
now that my kidneys are screwed and im older (27) its pretty fucking hard. and drinking just knocks me out now.

The thing that helped me last year was I led a very active life. I walked every where I went, and was never really not busy...it was great. I slept about 5-6 hours a night...never even needed to set my alarm clock.

I'm 24, and outside of some minor weight gain which I'm working on...I feel the same
