I was actually listening to Jar of Flies the other day and thinking it'd work good. I don't know, probably "Nutshell" or that instrumental song. Maybe the unplugged cut of "Would?".
<Drew_Linky> Well, I've eaten vegetables all of once in my life.
My dad told me he wants 'Touch Too Much' by AC/DC, 'Simple Man' by Lynyrd Skynyrd, and something (probably 'The Sentinel') by Priest. I think that's a pretty solid set.
I would want an all ska funeral, because that way nobody could be sad.

Also, the Faith No More cover of "I Started A Joke"
YESSSS!!!
That's a good cover...sounds nothing like Patton though. It's a shame it's only 2 minutes long. I also like The Wallflowers cover...but not nearly as sad.

Remember that episode of of SNL where Phil Hartman sang "Goodybye" to with Chris Farley hugging him? I want that video playing non-stop, because I don't want a single dry fucking eye at my funeral. That video will make Hells Angels cry like little girls.
So here's to you Mrs. Robinson. People love you more- oh, nevermind.

I kinda like Kaufman did in "Man on the Moon. If I was terminally ill and had the time and spirit, I would totally pull something like that.
Also, I don't know if anyone here is a fan of Nick Swardson's comedy, but I liked his concept of what he'd do at his funeral.

Finding the right funeral songs is a task. But one should have a list of appropriate funeral songs. . I came across caring.com for some appropriate funeral songs. This Helped me out for my granny's funeral.

It's funny that you mentioned both of these because I have always said I wanted these two exact same things done at my funeral.
Also, in the spirit of Andy Kaufman, maybe at the end of the funeral, have everyone go out for milk and cookies.
But in all seriousness, I want "My Way" to be played. But I want the Elvis version.
Bump. I've decided that for my funeral, I am going to record a cover of Air Supply's "All Out Of Love" with slightly modified lyrics:
I'm lying alone with my head decomposed
Death is real cold and it hurts
I hope you hurt too cuz what else can you do
Tormented and torn apart
I wish you could carry my smile in your heart
For times when your life feels so low
It would make you believe what tomorrow could bring
When today doesn't really know, doesn't really know
Chorus:
I'm all out of life, you're all lost without me
I know you're depressed, be grieving for so long
I 'm all out of life, what are you without me
And now it's too late, to say that you were so wrong
You want me to come back and carry you home
Away from these long lonely nights
Death is coming for you, you'll be here soon too
It's much worse if you try to fight
And what would you say if I called on you now
And said that you can't hold on
There's no easy way, it gets harder each day
Don't worry soon you'll be gone, you'll be gone
Chorus
Oh, what are you thinking of?
What are you thinking of?
Oh, what are you thinking of?
What are you thinking of?
This is an interesting topic. I've thought about it here and there, but I don't have a complete list. Here's what I do know:
"Funeral For a Friend" - Elton John
"Goodbye, Stranger" - Supertramp
"Turn of a Friendly Card" - Alan Parsons Project
"Every Breath You Take" - The Police
"Dance of Eternity" - Dream Theater
I want some other upbeat songs, because I don't want my funeral to be a Depressopalooza. If anything, I'd like to have something for along the lines of a Klingon funeral. I want my life and spirit to be celebrated, not my death to be mourned. Maybe I'll have the Klingon theme played too.
RIP Hacker.

I don't know if this is relevant, but my mom has a crazy, morbid sense of humor. She often jokes about wanting to play Queen's "Another One Bites The Dust" at her funeral.

Box of Rain, Ripple, and Brokedown Palace, all by the Grateful Dead. Then the hymn There is a Fountain Filled With Blood.

Blackfoot - Train, Train
Grim Reaper - See You In Hell
I have several (unless I've posted some already the last time I visited this thread, which has been awhile)
Aphex Twin- "Avril 14th"
Linkin Park- "Leave Out All The Rest"
Theory of a Deadman- "By the Way"
Mushroomhead- "Nowhere To Go"
Machine Head- "A Farewell To Arms"
Backstreet Boys- "Shape of My Heart"
Yeah, not too much in terms of music before/during the 90's...
