I'm divided on this issue.

For it: This sounds intriguing, and it interests me enough that I'd try it. Plus, more life-like interaction with the games you play.

Against it: This goes against every gaming fiber in my entire fuckin' body. The controller is the center of a game. No controller=non-video game.

A successful add-on, Syd? There were none, as far as I remember. They did have successful peripherals back in the day, what with the N64 Rumble Pak, the NES Four Score or hell, even the Power Glove.

NATAL shouldn't be classified as an add-on, because it doesn't add that much to the console like other add-ons (32x, for example) did - all it is is a camera. It doesn't add Blu-ray nor does it offer any extra processing power or memory.

I seriously doubt any developers would make any games for it, anyway. The Wii is getting shunned because developers don't know how to use the Wiimote. The same thing happened with the EyeToy, the Jaguar (which had a really, really fucked up architecture) or hell - even the Dreamcast.

Microsoft should wait until developers start figuring out how to use controls like that effectively. Right now? It might be another $99 gimmick that you buy just to play that one game. A shame, really.

One word: Hypocrites.

Bill Gates said 1/2 years ago that the Wii-Remote was a piece of crap, (not those exact words, but you get the picture) and now, look what Microsoft are doing. It really annoys me actually.

As for the peripheral itself, it looks like meh. No one, apart from Americans and the Middle-Class have living rooms the size of the one shown in the video. And think about the Japanese; no one buys the 360 in Japan anyway, and they live in tiny houses.

It looks boring. Waving your arms around like a retard can't be healthy.

So I say a big fuck you to Microsoft for this.
