Probably because they're just not well-known enough to be hassled legally. romnation and edge emu BOTH have had to take down roms from their archives.

8$, way too much, they could charge 5$ and save on legal actions against ROM sites, which are damn easy to find.
Not to mention the effective methods of acquiring such items.
But for five dollars, I would be glad to support the company that supported me for years, besides, what do they have to do? All the work is on the internet, just download the roms from the rom sites robbing them, and sell em all over again.

Does anyone else feel slightly ripped off by the fact that a controller is 60 dollars? I mean, ideally, you want to play with four players, right? So that's going to cost you 180 dollars extra. So much for the wii being the cheap alternative. Maybe nintendo assumes it'll just be easier for each individual person to buy a Wii then bring their controller over for gaming, etc? This would make sense too if the wiimote has some kind of memory to store Mii data on it...I dunno, just making crap up about that.

60 bucks for the controller, exactly.
I for one can't wait for Wii sports, I hope the boxing game is awesome. They oughta make it so you can use double wiimotes and stuff them inside of boxing gloves for extra fun.
