man i just think more in terms of albums than i do in terms of songs so im just gonna go with records from '95 (pipsqueak comin' through) also fuck ordering i just can't be assed

4. Play Guitar - John Cougar Mellencamp
5. Suffragette City - David Bowie

There are a surprising amount of quality choices from 1983! I could probably rework this list quite a few times depending on how I'm feeling at the time. Huey Lewis and the News was the first band I ever got in to as a child, my favorite song was Hip to be Square, which would have been on my list if it had been released in '83.

Suffragette City was released in 1972.

Lesh is correct, moreover I thought perhaps it had a re-release in 1983, but alas no the re-release was in 1976, and no one that I could find covered it even in 1983. Oops
