They already were, I believe. And they moved the magazine office from Redmond, WA to somewhere else in Washington.

I can understand the appeal, and non-assisted runs impress me greatly, but I would never want to do it. Once I know a game well enough that I could speed run it, I actually PREFER to fuck around. I can beat SMB1 pretty quickly, but I rather try and execute the Small Fiery Mario trick in every castle instead.

I could never get that trick to work when I was younger. Alas, now that I am older I forgot how to do that trick. Probably still wont be able to do it still.

It's fairly simple, I did it entirely by accident when I was a kid. To do it, you need to be Super Mario and you need to be in one of the first seven castle. 1-4 works the best, as there's no bricks, hammers, or fireballs to worry about. Sneak past Bowser and wait by the axe. Bowser will come towards you. When he gets close, jump up. You need to time your jump so that hit the axe and get hit by Bowser at exactly the same time. If you do it correctly Mario will flash and you'll hear the shrinking sound, but Mario won't shrink. When you start the next level, you'll still be Super Mario. The next power-up block you hit will have a Magic Mushroom. Touch it; you'll shrink. The next power-up block you find will have a Fire Flower. Get it and you'll become Small Fiery Mario.

I was never able to do the SMB "infinite" lives trick until I saw someone do it. I read how to do it in live 15 different hint books and I never understood exactly what the meant. Once I saw someone do it, it was easy as hell. I've still never done the Minus World trick without using emulator save states to try over and over again. That one is a fucking pain.

Nice, i'll give it a shot later on. Now that you told me how to do the trick, I remember never being able to get the timing right when I was a kid. My brother would do it fine w/no trouble, but I would always either get hit by Bowser or get the hammer first, but never at the same time.

I could never do the 'tweedlebob' (thats what my friends call that infinite lives trick where you bounce on the koopa shell) trick either. I would always F up and have the shell bounce off the back and just go flying to that bottomless pit.

I just paid $45 for Super Metroid at the marked, I could have saved some money if it weren't for my instant gratification needing self, oh well, I played a tiny bit of it and am looking forward to playing it out, this game kicks fucking ass. The great graphics, oh so intense first stage good controls, now I see why some people have this ahead of LttP, it definately deserves mention as the second best game on the system if not the best.

I overpaid, I know, but I can always take it back, i doubt that will ever happen though.
