I think the first video game I've played is Pac-Man on my dad's Atari 2600.

It may be a piece of crap to me now, but it wasn't when I was a little kid.

My first game was yet another boring Mario/Duckhunt combo.

Currently I'm playing Mass Effect. How times have changed.

My Dad used to own some system, maybe a NES but he can't remember. And we had this game that looked kind of like Dig-Dug. Anyways, I got a Gameboy Color for Christmas one year that came with Pokemon Yellow. I fucked up once and tried to catch Lorelei's Dewgong with my Master Ball...

I'm not quite sure of the first game I've ever played, it may have been Sonic 2 at my cousins house, I just don't know, back in those days I never kept track of dates and time.

However the first game system I ever owned was a Sega Genesis and it came with the 6-Pack, so I guess the 6-Pack then.

Sonic the Hedgehog 1, Columns, Streets of Rage, Golden Axe, Revenge of Shinobi, and Super Hang-On.

Oh Goddess, Klassix™ Memoriez™. Just hearing the Clotho theme from Columns again is enough to send me into a state of nostalgic bliss, while memories of playing Super Hang-On on in original mode give me this blank, void-like feeling, as that was exactly how that game felt; blank, hypnotic, quiet, and void-like...on original mode that is.

No other game however can match the nostalgic effect that Ecco II: The Tides of Time has on me, no game.

Was it Lode Runner? Cuz that game is sweet.

Thou, because I am wroth, be not dismayed, for I shall win the strife, whoever circle round within for the defence. This their insolence is not new, for of old they used it at a less secret gate, which still is found without a bolt. Above it thou didst see the dead inscription; and already on this side of it
descends the steep, passing without escort through the circles,
One such that by him the city shall be opened to us.

The first game I can recall playing is SMB and Duckhunt. We loved the hell out of Duckhunt. I have at least 3 Zappers, none of which work. I should spraypaint one of them black and be the professor from Out of This World on Halloween.

I'd say it's either that or Mr. Do.

Mr. Do seems way too colorful but they could both certainly be it.

If Mr. Do and Lode Runner are possibilities, I'm gonna throw Gyromite and Bugs Bunny's Crazy Castle out there as well.

Good call! I was so oblivious to crappy video games when I was a little kid. Can you believe that I once liked *shudder* Shaq Fu?

Super Mario Bros/Duck Hunt for me as well. Both incredibly awesome games.

That. Someone mentioned something about renting though. I remember going to the store and looking at the Mega Man 2 cover and wondering what the hell was going on there. When I first got to the select screen I thought it was a choice of which boss I could be. Boy was I wrong.

Yeah, Shaq Fu was the shit for me except for the cheesy last fight that stunk of SNK Boss syndrome.

My first video game was probably... uh... ...umm...

I have no idea. Something on the Atari 2600, maybe? Combat, probably. Or was it on the Commodore 64? Bard's Tale, or Heart of Africa...? Or something else. Dammit, I really do not know.

I do know - or suspect - that playing games is probably how I learned to read.

That's true. That was awesome that we got to pick our opponents in that game. Very Happy

First game I ever played was Galaga or Ms. Pac man or Silk Worm in the arcade. First game I could call mine was Sky Shark. Man that game is kick ass. For some reason when I was younger I though that you were rescuing your girlfriend or something so I expected some kind of ending. Then I realized not every game was about rescuing some girl. Man, what the hell was wrong with me? End of post.

My first game was SMB/Duck Hunt and Pitfall from my dad's Atari. Not sure which ones played first but they are the first 2 games I ever touched.
