I liked DosShell (but that's not a true OS).

I'm at school, so the site is blocked right now, but I'll look at it later.

The Windows OS was originally designed as a rip-off of the Mac OS, because at the time PC OSes sucked. OS/2 Warp in particular was not that great. |
And, don't forget AmigaOS which was not the first GUI based OS (It came out in 1985, one year after the first MacOS which was released in 1984.), Amiga’s advanced sound and video capabilities went along with its sophisticated GUI-driven OS (which also featured preemptive multitasking, shared libraries, messaging, scripting, multiple simultaneous line consoles, a real use for the right mouse button, and other features not found in the Apples and IBMs of the day). To add insult to injury, Amiga featured Apple/IBM interface emulation. Apple or IBM users who preferred their old interface could have Amiga mimic that look instead of its own. It was the first one with true multitasking. And has been ripped off in style and ease of use ever since.
Don't forget Xerox Star which debuted in 1981, which was the first true GUI-driven PC. Which to this day, many proponents claim that Jobs stole most of the ideas behind Star when creating the first GUI for the Apple Lisa.

Thanks for the torrent link, by the way.

I can't download it, though. It's 4 fucking gigs, and with my internet that would probably be around 5 hours.

I read Syd's experience, and I had a similiar experience, but just no where near as bad as his. I always register my Nintendo games at Nintendo.com...not sure why really, just do. Anyway, I just bought a NEW copy of Twilight Princess for the Wii and went to register it but it won't let me because the pin has already been registered. The packaging on the outside wasn't original either at all. I know I got a used game entitled new. This was from a GameStop, same basic thing as EB in Syd's story.. It didn't really bother me that much, but is it even legal for these stores to be selling used games calling them new?

Man, that's some major douchebaggery. The GameStop out here pulls shit like that, too.

We always have an open copy which we use for "Try it before you buy" purposes. When thats the only one we have left, we first tell them its the opened store copy and if there are any scratches we will buff them out, and that they get a 10% discount since it's not actually "NEW". Thats just what we do...
That and no one but the employees have access to anything inside the cases, and they know what will happen if they do anything like register games.

And GTA and loves the PSP, no matter how near-death it is.

I like the PSP for roleplaying games. However the system is definitly in need of a boost if it wants to compete. Hell we sell more gameboy colors and pockets then we do PSP's. DS...sold out...hmmmm....weird.

Then again, the DS is sold out all over the world. In Japan, DSes are bought out as quickly as they come in.

Well, it's official, the EB Games in the mall here fucking sucks. Apparently, my Edge card expired, and they're now charging $14 for a year subscription instead of $5! Fuck that!

I can;t remember did you use to get a magazine at EB with the edge card...like Game Infomrer at Gamestop. Cause that might be why its up to $14. In the next year or so if I decide to franchise you'll be a lot happier...I GAR OWN TEE!

If you franchise and put a store in St. Joseph, Missouri, I shall be your first and best customer.
EDIT: Hell, I'll work there. I need a job.

Since there are some comments that seem like people are unaware, I'd like to point out that Gamestop and EB are now the same company, hence EB becoming even SHITTIER.
