To be honest, I probably played Sonic 1 a lot more times than Sonic 2. Too bad getting all the chaos emerals in 1 is a total punch in the dick, as it does nothing for you.

That's what it's about. Sonic Adventure kept the running fast for the most part, but then they tried to go all Super Mario 64-ish, and make everything a retarded easter egg hunt. It's like "Find the keys! Now kill the enemies! Now suck Eggman's dick!"

Sonic 3 & Knuckles are a definite choice. The second game and Sonic Adventure are close runner-ups.
Shadow was terrible on so many levels, and the 360 game is mediocre.
In addition, Cream the Rabbit sounds like a goddamn 50-year-old pretending to be a little girl.

I just found out Secret Rings has been out for less than three weeks. They actually worked in experience points to enhance his abilities now.

So yeah, I got Secret Rings. It takes a little while to get used to the controls, but I really like it (though it's more of the Adventure style). Apparently there're some party games you can unlock, but I've only got one wiimote. So for now it's just doing the Adventure mode.
