Beat two games in the past few weeks: Hotline Miami and Resident Evil 6. Hotline Miami was insanely intense and though the ending still mystifies me, I really enjoyed the mind-bending plot, too. Plus it's got the best soundtrack of any game I've ever played. Resident Evil 6 is a very fun but flawed game; for everything it does right (the immensely satisfying melee attacks, Leon's campaign in general), it does a lot of things wrong (the sheer amount of quick time events, the amount of instant-death attacks, the absence of horror).

I challenge you to try Parallel Worlds. It's a hack of Link to the Past that makes it look like a cake walk.

Beat Crystalis again this past weekend. It was a bit easier than I remembered, but still a hell of a lot of fun. The hardest bosses were General Kelbesque (1st fight), Mado (2nd fight), and Karmine. The end boss is a joke.

I love Crystalis, but you're right, the end boss is way too fuckin easy.

It's a classic for the NES. For the gameplay alone, I'd put it into the top 10 NES games of all time ranking, no matter what the criteria for ranking. As a kid, I always valued Nintendo Power issue 59 for this game. Smile

I just beat Secret of Mana. I did no level grinding; be those levels spells, weapons or Exp. The game is more fun that way. Best spells in the game: Cure Water is the best, very quickly followed by Moon Energy. Level 4 Moon Energy just rapes the Mana Beast at the end (and at lower levels helps tremendously at ALL bosses). No need for charging your weapons with that spell, just every simple 100% attack inflicts major damage.

Ocarina of Time again. I hadn't played it in several years. I'm missing seven heart pieces and sixteen gold skulltulas. I doubt I have the fortitude to find the rest, though.

I didn't realize, until I played OOT on the 3DS, there's a symbol on the map screen that tells you if you've found all the spiders in a dungeon/map location.

Finished Dark Souls yesterday. Playing the New Game Plus now and i totally rape the game. I have heard NG+ is supposed to be harder than regular game, but i just tear my way through it. I fought Bell Tower Gargoyle, went DIRECTLY to Queelag, then Sens Fortress and finally Smough and Ornstein. So I'm like 2-3 hours into the game and already have the Lordsvessel.

New Game+ is super easy since you almost have to grind to even make it through the game the first time. Really the only difference is that the enemies get a decent health boost which is negated by knowing how to fight each thing already and having much better stats than the first time you fought them. Hell if you are good enough at triggering it and have the stats you can usually still backstab insta-kill most of the trash stuff even in New Game+.

True they can be annoying. The problem with them is that you have so many seconds to kill each one before another appears, with their increased health it can be hard to drop them before that happens. Best way I found to kill them was magic. You can usually blast the first two down in seconds with it and heavily damage, if not kill, the third depending on how good your magic is. A single one toe to toe in melee after you run out of spells is pretty easy since their attacks are telegraphed so heavily. If you can get there in human form the NPC Beatrice makes a great damage sponge so you can spam magic as well though she is really terrible at doing damage to them.

I made my char primary a melee character, secondary focusing on miracles and faith build. So i can't cast any magic that would deal some decent damage.

Xenoblade- This game is amazing! If you haven't played it yet you need to. It's the best game I've played in many years. The landscape, music, characters, story and voice acting are incredible. The combat and affinity mechanics are unique and fun. I put 86 hours into this game and wish I could've played more but I had to give it back to my friend. I know it's rare and expensive but it's worth any horrible, perverted act you have to perform to acquire it. 10/10

Lost in Shadow- It's a platformer with some puzzle and light rpg elements. Walking on shadows and manipulating light create some interesting gameplay. Just when you think it's getting old, they add another dimension. It's pretty short... it took me around 15 hours to beat it but it was only $10. It's a short, decent platformer and not much more. 6/10

Luigi's Mansion- This game was agonizing! Capturing ghosts was boring and repetitive. Imagine if they took one of those generic MMORPG side quests (collect 50 Quill Boar tusks) and made it into it's own game... that's Luigi's Mansion. And it's boring in many other ways. Are you low on health? Then I hope you're ready to spend 10 minutes opening drawers and cupboards looking for hearts. Here's a quick summary of Luigi's Mansion: enter room, capture ghosts, get key to new room, repeat 50 times. Now you don't need to play this turd Smile 3/10

Adding the games I've beaten in the past few months:

Sweet Home (on my NES, no less!)
Star Trek: The 25th Anniversary (kind of crappy and unbelievably short NES game, I always thought it was so neat as a kid but had never beaten it)
Castlevania: Harmony of Dissonance
Tenchu 3: Wrath of Heaven
Marble Madness
Grand Theft Auto: Vice City

Currently working on Final Fantasy XII and Brain Lord. I tried beating Demon's Crest last week but the last boss is the single most ridiculously difficult boss enemy I've fought in a video game ever.
