Vegas is supposedly badass, I wish I could play it on my PC but WHOOPS I don't have shader model 3.0 because I don't upgrade every 5 minutes like some loser with nothing to spend money on except computer parts.

I don't like FPS games much, so I'm not interested in Gears of Wars.
Anyway, I won't buy any next-gen console soon. I'll buy a Wii in 3 or 4 years.

The FPS I like are Goldeneye 007, Perfect Dark and some on the PC.

Also, Gears of War isn't an FPS. It's third person.

Would a second-person shooter involve shooting yourself?

I guess so. The only way I can fathom an SPS working is that it would be inverted from an FPS. Instead of seeing the enemies, you'd just see your character and you'd have to move him around through unseen environments and shoot at unseen enemies. Perhaps there'd be a radar or a narrator telling you what to do.

third and first person shooters are pretty much the same genre.

Hahaha, I thought about that a while back. I invented a game called SUPER EGO SHOOTER or some shit, where all you look at for the whole game is just your own face. You run around and you see the anger and mental anguish on your face as you kill both enemies and loved ones, due to not being able to see what you're shooting at.

wouldn't the second person be the enemy being shot at? if the first person is the aggressor, and the third person is an observationalist, then it only seems logical.

I am a worthless piece of crap.

Indeed. That could make an interesting game. You only see your character through security cameras, and when gaurds get close enough, you see yourself through their eyes. I think it could be a novel concept if done correctly.

Also, in response to earlier remarks. True GOW is a 3rd person shooter, but so is most of RS:Vegas. Whenever you take cover behind something (Which is about 95% of the time) the game switches to 3rd Person. I just love the tactical aspects of the RS series, and how teamwork is vital to survival. Besides, do you get Fiber Optic Cameras to peek under door with in GOW? Or, how about IR and Night Vision googles? Can you fast rope? Can you repel down a line upside down with your sidearm drawn?

Don't get me wrong GOW looks great. I haven't played it yet, because I am in the opposite spot most people are. I'm too hooked to RS:V to play GOW yet. That, and well I have to get a X360 first, or go over to my buddy's house to play it. I play RS:V on my pc because I am a "loser with nothing to spend money on except computer parts." Smile
