Also, I love games where there's extra stuff to do after beating the main story. You don't have to A Rank every level in Sonic, but you're rewarded if you choose to do so.

From what I remember Robotnik played inside some sort of robot that could hardly take any damage. Shadow was just boring all around...I know he played like Sonic...but it just wasn't that fun from what I remember, granted I haven't played the games in about 9 years.

Sonic Spinball is nice until you die, then I get pissed and turn it off because I don't feel like doing it all over again.

There are very few Sega games with bad music, and even fewer OLD SCHOOL Sega games with bad music.

Sega Master System games had such charming music. Rastan and Golvelius : Valley of Doom come to mind.

These days I just don't hold my breath for a new Sonic game anymore.

Speaking of the Adventures series, I've played SA1 and tried to get all the emblems. I've gotten all except the Chao emblems... I think it's rather unfair that I can't get Metal Sonic just because I don't feel like raising chaos.

Sonic Colors for $20? Might as well give it a try. If it's that cheap, why the hell not?
