So is the weird shit in X-Files real(in the story at least?) I've never seen it.

Cause if it's not and they prove it all wrong every episode, I'd much rather watch Scooby-Doo, which is basically the same.

Sometimes yes, sometimes no, and sometimes it's left ambiguous. A lot of the things that they touch on, though, are inspired by real and crazy stuff. Like Firewalker, per example, one of my favorites, was inspired by the zombie ant fungus (which, it recently was discovered, there are more types of).

Who likes role-playing games? Me. Way too goddamn much.

Nonesense, almost a 100% of the x-files episodes are, within the scope of the series, real.
I could only name 1 episode were the plot turns out the be not supernatural and thats the episode "Never Again" where the halucinations of scully get explained through the tattoo she did get wich was made with a needle wich was in contact with ergot. There are a handful more episodes wich have nothing to do with paranormal things but those are mostly character centred episodes and deal with a characters personal issue or something like that.
Nearly every episode is about a supernatural being or a phenomenon caused by supernatural forces and its never up to the viewer to decide. It's always a real happening.

it was the best of times
