It *is* a Gamecube controller!

It resembles a Gamecube controller though... which is generally what I like my Gamecube controllers to resemble.

There's a Gamecube controller that looks like a 360 controller somewhere on I Mockery, but the picture angle sucks. I can't tell if it's a mod or some weird third part shit, and my google fu has failed to wrangle up a better image.

It isn't necessarily the increased size.

I feel like the buckle would eventually wear on the skin giving you abrasions and perhaps blisters.

No pain no gain!

I liked the Gamecube controller except for the Z button. It always felt awkward whenever you had to use it.

Nothing beats the PS1/PS2 controllers though, they're simple and effective. I don't care much for the PS3 controller though because the fucked up the R2/L2 buttons and the analog sticks. Guess they felt they had to change something by the third console but it wasn't needed.

They are better then the original models for the PS3 controllers...

so many cry babies here. the only real controller that gave me any issues was the original xbox controller, and that was because it was the size of a fucking smart car.

every other controller i have played with has been ok. some i adapted to quicker than others, but no controller was ever unplayable.

You're telling me. It feels like they greased the analog sticks too. Those two issues have made SSFIV unplayable to me.

That was one of the main reasons why I never got an Xbox. That controller was one of the worst things I have ever seen. The buttons were small, they were raised in a weird way which didn't feel good when you pushed them. The start button was extremely small and it wasn't even made clear that it was the start button. Then in the middle you have an enormous fucking Xbox logo that did absolutely nothing. I'd like to know who the hell thought that was a good idea? After about 5 minutes of play, I didn't want to playt anymore and ended up getting a Gamecube instead, which lured me back to Nintendo for good. However, the PS2 controller is hands down the best design I've ever seen.

They started packaging the smaller Japanese Xbox controller that the respected 360 controller is based off of pretty fucking fast back in the Xbox days if I Remember correctly. As in bought an Xbox way when there was nothing cool besides Halo and Morrowind and Hitman and the next time I came to check out releases they had the smaller controllers everywhere, and they had been bundled with the boxes consoles for a while as well.

The only downside in the original Xbox was it's lackluster exclusive lineup. The controller got fixed pretty fast, it got all the must have ports sooner or later, and it even had a built in hard drive, unlike that wankery the 360 pulls today making you buy it separately for a third of the actual console price.

Although I will admit that Microsoft forcing you to pay 30$ for a remote / sensor kit to unlock DVD playback on the original Xbox was total bullshit.

*edit* Shit I trust my gen 1 Xbox to last longer than my second 360. So yeah stick with Nintendo I guess. Or Sony.

My favorite controllers are the SNES and N64 controllers. Fuck dual analog. Unless we're talking about Smash TV, in which case, fuck dual analog and this game is fucking impossible.

Really? I always found Smash TV to be pretty easy. I never beat it, but I never really tried, even though I got pretty far every time I played. It's a great game to just pick up for fun.

Which version did you play? The arcade version, or the toned down home versions?

The arcade version is damn near impossible, for sure. The console ones didn't ever feel right to me.

Yea, fuck what anyone says, I have heard people say otherwise, but the N64 controller is very comfortable to hold.

I liked the N64 controller, but I could never understand how exactly I was supposed to hold it.

Even though the box it came in and every single manual that came with every game showed you how to hold it?

While I agree that R2 and L2 buttons are a bit weird (I bought those little nubby extender clip on pieces that help a lot), the dual sticks are virtually identical to the DS2.

Wow. Yet another example of my extreme failure to pay attention.

I guess you have a point, I have the SNES version. I bought it for a dollar.

The N64 controller for the most part was easy, and easy to hold, but I do remember a few games that still used the control panel to move, which fucked me up easily.

Fucking Turok! With it's damned C-buttons to move your character!

Come to think of it, South Park had the same control scheme.
